Jesse W. Jackson Power Transformer Tester
I am a power transformer tester that trained and worked in Ulsan, South Korea for Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in the Electro Electric Systems Division. I have tested power transformers out in the field and inside the protected confines of a test bay.
Control Room Working the controls in the control room with Mr. Park,
Chief Test Engineer in the 500kV control room. This room is equipped with Hipotronics RIV - Partial Discharge Equipment and Haefely Impulse Generator PC Controls with High Resolution Impulse Analyzing System and Generator Controls.
Control Room
Observing voltage and current readings during No-Load Current No-Load Loss testing. Performing calculations for No-Load Impedance.
500kV Test Bay
Checking the connections before lightning impulse testing and observing the stage connections on Haefely Impulse Voltage Generator.
200kV Test Bay
Connecting cables on the TV side for No-Load Current No-Load Loss testing.
200kV Test Bay
Making connections to the B phase on the TV side during the Lightning Impulse testing.
500kV Test Bay
Standing on 1100MVA power transformer studying the delta LV bushings.
Doble Engineering Equipment Experience using the
M4100 for power factor and 10kV excitation current testing on bushings and transformers.
Experience using M5300 and M5200 for Sweep Frequency Response Analysis.
Experience with DTA software
Experience interpreting SFRA graphs
Experience using Tettex / Raytech and Meggar for winding resistance and core ground testing
Experience using Tettex / Raytech and Meggar equipment for transformer turn ratio testing
Experience using the Fluke IR Thermometer, Digital Multimeter and Thermal Imager
Experience working with ABB bushings, IEEE Std C57, IEC Std and Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen tap changers
