LOGISTICS CENTERS IN POLAND
There are three logistic centres in Poland that meet Western European standards. Their location resulted from local initiatives only, and their development was not supported by the state in a systematic way. That’s why their organisations and levels of development and availability of basic logistic infrastructure components much differ.
• Śląskie Centrum Logistyki S.A. w Gliwicach,
• Euroterminal Sławków Sp. z o.o.,
• Centrum Logistyczno Inwestycyjne Poznań (CLIP Logistics Sp. z o.o.).
The existing centres neither cooperate with each other, nor undertake initiatives fort development of the national intermodal logistic network.

LOGISTICS CENTER – POZNAŃ FRANOWO
Logistics Center Poznań – Franowo is planned at the 105
hectare site in south - east of Poznan. The plan is to create there
throughout the Special Economic Zone, which will provide an
incentive for potential investors. The planned location of the project
creates favorable conditions for its operation - it adheres on one
side to the express road Poznań - Katowice, on the other to the
railway tracks of distribution – transshipment station Poznań –
Franowo, where PKP Cargo is planning to build a container
terminal.

Wielkopolskie Centrum Logistyczne (WCL) is a zone of
intensive investment with infrastructure prepared for the
logistics company profile, importers pursuing distribution
throughout the country and platforms of supply of store chains.
WIELKOPOLSKIE CENTRUM LOGISTYCZNE - KONIN
Konin
WCL is currently only a warehouse
park but because of the planned
further development of infrastructure
and the projected growth of freight
flows in the region, intermodal
investment is considered, i.e. the
construction of a container terminal.

CONTAINER TERMINALS MAIN PARAMETRIC EVALUATION

26
CONCLUSIONS (1)
• increasing the attractiveness of the RBGC corridor requires integrated
actions of individual logistics centers and container terminals to create
a new product – the service offered to the global flow of goods
• Poznań agglomeration area has a well developed point infrastructure
designed to serve intermodal transport. Worth mentioning is a new
container terminal open in 2011, belonging to Polzug Intermodal acting
mainly as a hub for container traffic primarily from German sea ports
• the parametric analysis of facilities (intermodal terminal, logistics
center) located in Poznań agglomeration has shown that the container
terminal POLZUG in Gądki is recommended for further action within
work package of the project Rail Baltica Growth Corridor
Part-financed by the European Union (European Regional Development Fund)
27
CONCLUSIONS (2)
• the analysis also showed a lack of coordination of activities related to
planning, management and development of point intermodal
infrastructure of the whole region. In this scope, close cooperation of
representatives of regional authorities, intermodal operators and
shippers is required
• provisions in trade agreements concluded between shippers,
forwarders and intermodal operators prevented the complete
identification of freight flows through the analyzed points. Detailed
studies in this area require establishing close cooperation with
individual shippers
