Position: PHP / Laravel Developer Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer Position description:

The Global Orphan Project, a Kansas City-based non-profit, is looking for a PHP / Laravel developer. The right candidate is a proven, productive, IT professional specialized in developing web applications using Laravel Framework within PHP programming language. The PHP / Laravel Developer will be part of a growing tech team reporting to The Global Orphan Project Chief Marketing Officer. This individual will develop and maintain an innovative and proprietary web-based PHP application while also supporting the web development needs of the marketing/communications team. This is a full-time position and, therefore, qualifies for participation in GO Project benefits. Salary is commensurate with relevant skills and experience. Primary duties and responsibilities:

● Develop, record and maintain cutting edge web-based PHP applications on portal plus premium service platforms, specifically our proprietary software CarePortal and database

● Build innovative, state-of-the-art applications and collaborate with Marketing, Communications and Finance teams

● Ensure HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript is valid and consistent across applications ● Prepare and maintain all applications utilizing standard development tools ● Utilize backend data services and contribute to increase existing data services API ● Lead the entire web application development life cycle right from concept stage to delivery and

post launch support ● Convey effectively with all task progress, evaluations, suggestions, schedules along with

technical and process issues ● Document the development process, architecture, and standard components ● Coordinate with co-developers and keep project manager well informed of the status of

development effort and serves as liaison between development staff and project manager ● Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development

Required skills and qualifications:

● Previous working experience as a PHP / Laravel developer for 3-5 year(s) ● BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or similar relevant field experience ● In depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP and Laravel 5 PHP Framework ● Hands on experience with SQL schema design, SOLID principles, REST API design ● Software testing (PHPUnit, PHPSpec, Behat) ● MySQL profiling and query optimization
