Inadditiontohissolocareer,PiotrPławnerregularlyappearsinrecitalswiththepianistsBrunoCaninoandPiotrSałaczykaswellasinseveralchambermusicensembles,oftentogetherwithhiswife,thecellistIsabellaKlim.Also,hehasbeentheprimariusofthequintet„ISalonisti“since2006whosebroadrepertoireisrepresentedbythefilmTitanic(inwhichthequintetplayedtheorchestraondeck)andprojectslike„MusikausTheresienstadt”.Inthelastfewyears,hehasdevelopedhighlyactiveconcertandrecordingactivitieswithhisPławnerstringquartet.

PiotrPławnersnumerousrecordingshavebeenawardedseveralprizes.Forhisrecordingoftheconcertoforviolin,pianoandstringquartetbyErnestChaussonhewontheFrédéricPrizein2005andin2007,hewon“TheStradAward”forhisrecordingofviolinconcertosbyKarłowiczandSzymanowski.HisrecordingofchamberworksbyKarolSzymanowskireceivedtheprizefor„CDoftheyear”in1999andin2009thehighestratingfrom„ClassicsToday”.Amonghislatestrecordingsare„PolishMiniatures”(2018,hänsslerclassic)andchambermusicbyMoniuszkoandZarebski(June2019,cpo).Twomorerecordingsaregoingtobereleasedin2019:thetwoviolinconcertosby

Bornin1974inŁódż,Poland,PiotrPławnerbeganstudyingtheviolinattheageofsix.Justthreeyearslater,hemadehisstagedebutasasoloistwithorchestra.FirstprizesatseveralmajorcompetitionsliketheWieniawskicompetitionin1991andtheARDCompetitioninMunich1995revealedhisexceptionaltalent.

In2015,hewasawardedthe“GloriaArtis”medalbythePolishMinisterofCultureforhisoutstandingcontributiontoPolishculture.
