    Short course description:

    This is the main performing art (specialization – piano)program‘ discipline that is designed for the development of apianist-soloist. The aim of the course is to develop abilities,knowledge and skills of the student. The content of the studiesconsists of piano playing, musical text learning, development ofartistic skills and assembling of a repertoire of various styles.This is the first level of a course that takes up seven semesters,during which technical, artistic and interpretational abilities of asoloist are developed, romantic style and large-scalecombination principles are studied.

    Course content:

    Pieces or piece cycle of the romantic era (for example: R.Schumann. Butterflies; E. Grieg. Lyrical pieces; F.Mendelssohn. Songs without words).

    Large scale piece or its part (for example: W. A. Mozart.Variations KV 265).

    Virtuosic etudes (for example: F. Chopin. Etude op.10, No.9;S. Rachmaninov. Etude - painting Op. 33 No. 4).

    Grading and evaluatingstudent work in class and/orat the final exam:

    Mid-term - 40 proc. (virtuosic etude)

    Exam - 60 proc. (15–20 minute program performed by heart:

    romantic piece cycle and large-scale piece (or its part).
