Short course description:

During the studies, students gain knowledge, abilities andplaying technique skills that are necessary for their furtherprofessional activity. Analysis and performance of pianopieces develops musical hearing, memory, teaches to hear andcontrol polyphonic pattern. Playing technique skills, thatallow to perform polyphonic pieces, etudes and pieces ofvarious complexity, are developed.

Course content:

Polyphonic piece (For example: J. S. Bach. Menueto in GJ. S. Bach. Small prelude in C, d, c; J. S. Bach. Two-voices inventions in B, , Three-voiced inventions in e).

Etude (For example: F. Burgmüller. Etudes No. 6, 21 op.100;A. Lemoin. Etudes No.31, 37 op. 37;S. Heller. EtudesNo. 25, No. 14 op.47).

Piece (For example :F. Mendelssohn. Songs without wordsop. 19 No. 4, 6, 9; E. Grieg. Arietta op. 12, No. 1, Danceof the elves op. 12 No. 4).

Grading and evaluatingstudent work in class and/orat the final exam:

Mid-term – Two virtuosic etudes (evaluated: quality ofperformance technique, mastery various piano techniques).

Exam program (evaluated: quality of performance technique,

revealing of the styles of the pieces, consideration of piano

playing specifics and artistry).
