What is Performance Editor Essential?ThisapplicationletsyouedittheVOICE/ARP/EFFECT/MEQparametersinthePerformancemodeoftheMOTIFXF,MOTIFXS,S90XS/S70XS,MOXF6/MOXF8,MOX6/MOX8fromyouriPad.SelectaPerformanceontheinstrument,edittheparametersoftheselectedPerformanceontheiPad,thenstoretheeditedparametersontheinstrument.

Whensettoon,tapping[RECEIVE]callsupaconfirmationmessage.

DeterminestheFaderbehavior.jump:TheFaderjumpstoanytappedlocationintheFaderarea.catch:TheFaderwillbe“caught”asyoudragonit.

Whensettoon,selectingaTemplate*transmitsthecorrespondingsettingsviaMIDI.

AdjustthePART PAN/PART REV SEND/PART CHO SENDbyoperatingtheknob,orbytappingthevaluetocallupthesliderforadjustingtheparameters.

AdjustthePART VOLUMEbyoperatingtheslider.Tapping[-]/[+]changesthevalueinsinglesteps.

TurnsthePart Switchon/off.Redindicates“ON”whilegrayindicates“OFF.”ThenumbercorrespondstothePartNumber.


VOICE display

Tapping[RECEIVE]startsreceptionofthesettingsfromtheinstrument.NOTETheVoicenameontheiPadmaybedifferentfromthat of the instrument during Arpeggio playbackwith“VoicewithARP”=ONand“ChangeTiming”=ON.Toremedythissituation,tap[RECEIVE].

Tapping[TRANSMIT]startstransmissionofthecurrentsettingstotheinstrument.NOTEWhen the Voice with ARP function is set to on,tapping[TRANSMIT]willchangethecurrentVoicetotheoneassignedtothenewArpeggiotype.

ChangestheArpeggiotypeofthecurrentPart.Thisisequivalenttothe[SF1]–[SF5]buttons.

LetsyoueditthePart1parameters.Likewise,theparametersfortheParts2–4canbeeditedinthecorrespondingarea.

Template NameSelectingaTemplatecallsupallthesettingsofallthedisplays.TochangetheTemplate,tap[+]/[-],ortaptheTemplateNametocalluptheTemplatelist,thentapthedesiredTemplate.

IndicatestheArpeggiotempo.Tochangethetempo,taptheTempovaluetocallupthesliderthenoperatetheslider,ortap[TAP]threetimesatthedesiredtempo.

TurnsthePart Switchon/off.Theredcolorindicates“on”whilethegraycolorindicates“OFF.”ThenumberonthebuttonreferstothePartNumber.

DeterminestheVoice Bank.Tapping[+]/[-]changestheVoiceBank.TappingtheBankNamebetween[+]and[-]callsuptheVoiceList.

DeterminestheVoice Number.Tapping[+]/[-]changestheVoicenumber.TappingtheVoicenamebetween[+]and[-]callsuptheVoiceList.

Effect List

To select an Effect Type:Tap[+]/[-]inthisarea. OrtaptheindicatorsinthisareatocalluptheEffectlist,tapthedesiredCategory,tapthedesiredType,thentapthedesiredPresetsetting.Afterselecting,tap[Done]toclosetheEffectlist.

To edit the Effect parameter:Dragthesliderofthedesiredparameter,ortap[+]/[-].

Draggingupwardordownwardwillscrollthroughtheparameters.


MEQ display


ToadjusttheEQparametersforeachBand,tapthedesiredbandat1or2tocorrespondinglychangetheKnobcolor,thenoperatetheKnob,ortapthevaluetocallupthesliderforadjusting.

SelecttheshapeoftheHIGHbandfromShelving(leftside)andPeaking(rightside).

ToedittheEQsetting,dragthedotwiththecolorcorrespondingtothatofthedesiredband(LOW,LOWMID,MID,HIGHMIDorHIGH).

SelecttheshapeoftheLOWbandfromShelving(leftside)andPeaking(rightside).

Gain Frequency


XY CONTROL displayThePadareaonthisdisplayletsyousimultaneouslycontrolthefiveparametersspecifiedforCONTROL1–5.ThismeansthatyoucanfreelychangethesoundinrealtimeduringkeyboardperformancebycontrollingthePadarea.


SetshowtheControlParameterValueisdetermined.X:Thehorizontalvalueoftheballpositionwillbetransmittedastheparametervalue.Y:Theverticalvalueoftheballpositionwillbetransmittedastheparametervalue.

SetstheControl Parameter.Tap[+]/[-],ortaptheParameternamebetween[-]and[+]tocallupthelist,thentapthedesiredparameter.
