Inspiring play. Unlocking potential.
PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Women Athletes Are Redefining the WorkplaceThe woman athlete represents an untapped leadership pipeline in the workplace. Women athletes are, by nature, high achievers, influential leaders and team players who have tremendous value for business. In fact, 94% of women executives in the C-suite played sports--52% played at the university level.
Yet, girls drop out of sport at twice the rate of boys by age 14, creating a cycle of poor emotional and physical health and wasted potential.
OPPORTUNITY
Play Like a Girl!® is a national 501(c)3 charitable organization founded in 2004 to create an equal playing field for women in sports by helping girls reach their full potential. Our mission is to provide girls ages 9-13 an opportunity--and in many cases, their only chance--to participate in sports and physical activity.
Ultimately, we endeavor to harness the natural properties of sport to propel young women into competitive, male-dominated careers--especially at the intersection of science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and sports.
It is our goal to help girls everywhere find the courage to do things beyond the field of play that they never thought possible. We believe girls given the opportunity to play on a team become women who have the confidence to stand on their own.
MISSION
We accomplish our mission through:
APPROACH
EDUCATIONWe educate girls in supportive learning environments outside of the classroom (out-of-school-time sports clubs and STEM camps) that spark their interests, reward hard work and exploration and boost confidence.
EXPOSURELasting impact comes from hands-on learning and real-world experiences. That’s why we provide girls with unique learning opportunities that open their eyes to a world of new possibilities.
EMPOWERMENTWe partner with female coaches, role models and mentors who inform and inspire girls while helping them see a winning future for themselves--both on and off the field of play.
IMPACT
By leveraging sport, Play Like a Girl is creating a new pipeline of women innovators and game changers. We diligently measure the impact of our work and refine our programs--and it's making a difference.
84% CLUB PARTICIPANTS said that because of the program they play sports or are active
64% CAMP PARTICIPANTS said they are considering a career in STEM
97% PLAY LIKE A GIRL ALUMNI said they feel more confident in their own abilities
From the West Coast to the Deep South, we deliver early positive experiences for girls in sports and physical activity by leveraging the collective power of women athletes, coaches and executives in the sports industry.

Imagine a place where girls can play the sports they love while learning important life skills. Did you imagine your local middle school? We partner with women volunteers-primarily moms, teachers and collegiate women-to create a brand new kind of athletic experience for girls, right in their own backyards. Volunteer coaches and athlete role models are making a positive impact in schools and communities across the U.S. by giving girls grades 5-8 access to sport and active play in the after school setting during out-of-school time. These fun, interactive clubs are free and expose girls to cool new sports like rugby, soccer and ultimate. Each of the 10 club session lasts 90 minutes. We’ll be adding new clubs in Nashville and around the country this fall.
