Sinceramente,
Sra. Ravalo
Dear Robison Students & Families,
The 17-18 school year has flown by quicky! We have already been through three quarters of diligent work in training new staff and working to improve Robison’s academic instruction and climate so that our students can be successful!
1) Some of the fantastic things that have happened recently:
• House Prometheus (1st time!) earned the most points and were treated to a House party on April 13th (games in the gym, music and dancing in the cafeteria, or physical activities outside) Look for pictures on our website soon! www.robisonms.org
• Principal’s Subs and Stories book club with the Principal has continued to grow monthly. We even Skyped with Jennifer Chambliss Bertman, the author of “Book Scavenger” in January! So cool!
• We now have a yellow Book Box/mini-library at the front entrance of our school—feel free to take a book or leave a book! Happy Reading!
• NJHS and Student Council members gained valuable experience and lessons when they fed the poor and the homeless on an early Saturday morning in March.
• Students from our self-contained special education classes participated in Special Olympics Bowling at Sunset Station in April.
2) April was the month for state online testing of the Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBAC) and our students worked hard to demonstrate their proficiency skills in their English/Language Arts and Math classes. We should receive our results in late June.
3) The 2018-2019 school year will begin early again. The first day of class is Monday, August 13th. Everyone (even current CCSD students) has to complete online registration again this year at campus.ccsd.net/campus/portal.
4) PLEASE NOTE: Robison will be adding 20 extra minutes of instruction daily, therefore classes will begin at 7:45 AM and end at 2:16 PM.
5) Some important dates to note: Zoom University May 25th-June 15th HALO Academy for incoming 6th graders August 6th-7th
We hope to see you and your family on campus at an event soon!
Sincerely,
Ms. Ravalo

SUMMER SCHOOL 2017/2018As the end of the school year rapidly approaches it’s time to speak with your student’s counselor regarding grades and promotion to the next grade level. If you are advised by the counselor that your student needs to attend summer school, here is valuable information concerning fees for each summer session, the courses offered and locations. It is important to note counselors are the only ones who can enroll students in summer school courses.
ORCHESTRAAdvanced Orchestra performed at CCSD Advanced Orchestra Festival on Friday, March 16, 2018, and received straight superior ratings from all three judges. The students are eagerly awaiting their well-deserved superior plaque the orchestra will receive and get to display in the orchestra room.
All Beginning, Intermediate, Chamber, and Advanced Orchestra students are preparing for their spring concert which will take place in the Robison Gym on Thursday April 26, 2018 at 5:30 PM. This will be the final concert of the 2017-2018 school year.
