1: Believe in yourself
Exude confidence.
Shoot what you love and believe in your style and your individuality.
Nobody can see what you see. You are unique.
Pour your creative soul into your work and it will shine through.
You will notice and your clients will notice which will in turn only boost
your confidence more.
You can do this.

2: Take Risks
As a creative you need to push your artistic boundaries now and then.
Try something new - a new twist on your style, a new prop you've not used before, a new technique you've always
wanted to have a crack at.
Go against the grain - break some of your own rules - try something
different. Take risks and they may just pay off.

3: The Art of Saying No
Learning to say no with confidence will make you a happier person with a better work/life
balance.
There's no need to say yes to every single enquiry. Know your limitations - determine how
many bookings you need without becoming stressed and time poor- then stick with it.
Make time for other priorities. By not overcommitting yourself you'll avoid feeling like
you're being pulled in every direction.
Pass that last minute enquiry onto a fellow colleague and enjoy the weekend off with your
family as planned.

4: CONNECT
Get out. Meet people. And by that I mean - real people, not online.
Meet some like-minded photographers, business owners and peers who you can vent your frustrations to, bounce new ideas off and have a laugh with.
Being self-employed and working from home can be quite isolating at times so great social connections can support you when needed, offer helpful advice and pass on clients when they themselves are fully booked.
I'm a big believer in #communitynotcompetitionand we as creatives need to lift each other up with encouragement and positivity.www.elisegowphotography.com
5: Treat Your Clients Like Gold
The decision to hire a professional photographer isn't one taken lightly by your clients. It's a big
deal and your client has chosen YOU.
Don't let them down. Go the extra mile. Make the experience an unforgettable one.
Take beautiful images, do it with a smile, be polite and respectful. Write handwritten notes. Wrap their packages with care and attention to detail.
Go above and beyond.
If you stick to this rule- you will always have repeat clients knocking on your door.
