The Book of Daniel
We will be reading and discussing
the life, times, dream interpretations, visions and prophecies of Daniel.
MEN’S CLUB As mentioned in Pastor Moore’s farewell luncheon, the Military Overseas Support Team (M.O.S.T.) needs our help. Karen Walbridge can no longer run this mission
project by herself. The school is supporting this mission as is the Women’s Group and Outreach Board. This is temporary support. I have proposed that we form a men’s group
that will help Karen and support this mission. So far John Wheeler, Robert Montreuil and Bill May have contacted me and offered their time and talent. Are there any other men out there that will come forward and join these men in support of our military? Brad Heine (954) 253-7584 [email protected]
PARABLES FROM LIFE – LENT 2018 After Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River
by John, he went into the desert for 40 days, a
period of preparation and reflection which included the vicious temptations of Satan to
divert Him from his ministry before HE even
began. Jesus prevailed. As we begin our season of Lent, an occasion of reflection and
introspection into our innermost heart and soul,
we do so in anticipation of walking with Jesus
through some experiences we’ve had in our own desert. Many illustrations Pastor Volz
will employ during this Lenten series will
come from his 56 years of ministry and will be actual situations and events which he can share
without violating any personal confidences.,
As we walk through our desert we do so with great confidence since we know that Jesus has
already made that walk.
The Lenten Theme this year will be:
Parables from Life!!
BIBLE STUDIES AND TECHNOLOGY The conference room in Luther Hall has been outfitted with a new smart,
widescreen 55” TV thanks to the effort of multiple people and groups. The Bible Brunch ladies, spearheaded by Dorothy Schawk, provided the funding; Dawn Banford, on the school staff,
researched and recommended the model, she also set up the connections and is helping users configure their devices to connect wirelessly to the TV; the church purchased the mounting hardware; John Strang and Howard Fischer, of the Lay Ministry and Properties Committee, installed the TV on the wall. The TV will be used by all of the groups here at Our Savior. We are truly blessed to have such cooperation and participation by so many people. Please stop by and check out the TV in the conference room.
WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE BRUNCH Dorothy Schawk will lead the group with a special class on “Discovering Hope” in the Psalms.

BOYS AGES 3 – 3RD GRADE
MRS. BECKY HARTER My name is Becky Harter, and I am so very happy to have the opportunity to spend time with students as the art teacher at Our Savior Lutheran School. I grew up in the Midwest, attended a small Lutheran school, very similar to OSLS and now hold a master’s degree from Florida State University. (Go Noles!) In addition to teaching art, I work part time as a licensed clinical social worker for the Memorial Healthcare System. I am a member of the Florida Alliance for Arts Education, and enjoy many different types art in my free time. My husband and I feel very blessed to have our three children attend OSLS. As the art teacher at OSL, it is my wish for students that each class will enlighten their hearts with a bit of faith, wisdom, and confidence. As the Bible verse states, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23; it is my mission to center on the hearts of the children, helping them grow in a relationship to the Lord. It is a privilege to watch your child grow and learn, and to be part of their journey to Christian maturity. With this opportunity as their art teacher, I will work with all my heart, centering on the hearts of children because I believe what is in their hearts now, shapes their future.

Grace in, grace out The computer acronym GIGO — “garbage in, garbage out” — describes how putting wrong code into a machine will lead to faulty output. Jesus offers a similar lesson in Matthew 15: “What comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person” (v. 18, ESV).
GIGO works the other way, too. If we put good things (including the good news of salvation) “in” our hearts, Jesus’ goodness will shine “out” through our lives. And when God’s grace enters and changes us, we’ll also reach out and share that good news with others.
