NOTES FROM THE FINANCE OFFICE
Doing some spring shopping? Consider using AmazonSmile for some or all of your purchases. Go to smile.amazon.com to register and shop. (If you already have an Amazon account, you won’t need to create a new one. Just make sure you are on the AmazonSmile site, smile.amazon.com, not regular Amazon.) Designate United Presbyterian Church in the USA North Presbyterian Church as your charity, and .5% of eligible purchases will be sent to North Presbyterian. The one catch – not all items are considered eligible. Check the product’s description to see if it will count.
It is never to late to pay your per capita. This year’s suggested amount is $50 per person. The total amount owed this year to Presbytery is $6,650, based on the number of members we had at the end of 2017. Whatever you give won’t have to come out of our regular funds, so please consider paying per capita this year.
Donations are still being accepted for the Camp Whitman Campaign. Hundreds of children have enjoyed their time at Camp Whitman over the years; we would like to think that hundreds more will find a safe, enjoyable sanctuary there in the years to come. If you donate, please note that your funds are for the Camp Whitman Campaign, and put your envelope in the collection or leave it in the office. All donations, up to $5,000, will be matched before the entire collection is sent to Presbytery.

Children & Youth
Finally, the days are getting longer and the sun is
shining! Welcome Spring!!! We’ve had a busy
March. The repairs on the Sunday school rooms
are complete and the rooms have been cleaned
and switched back. I couldn’t get over how excited
Miss Ann and the little ones were to be back in
their old room. We are now preparing for Palm
Sunday and Easter. The children are doing something special for Easter that
I’m sure everyone will enjoy. On April 14th Karen and Ed Wilson have
planned a big scavenger hunt for all the kids. Many hands are needed to
help out so if you would be interested please contact Karen or myself and
we will add your name to the volunteer list.
Speaking of volunteers, please keep an eye out in
the coming weeks for a VBS volunteer signup sheet
in the bulletin. This year’s theme is “The Incredible
Race”. It’s a race, but not just any race… a race
loaded with interesting challenges to attempt. A
race around the world that’s a global scavenger hunt
like you’ve never seen. At the same time, it’s about another race. A race
that began at the Garden of Eden and continues today. A race made up of
all people from all time. What race? The human race. Please come join us
for a week full of fun and adventure!!!
Our campaign for upgrading Camp Whitman is
going well. If we have any children interested in
signing up for camp please contact the office or
Deb Stamp to get them registered. We do have
Camper scholarships available and camper spots
get filled quickly so contact us and we will get the ball rolling!
Blessings in Christ Deb Stamp Director of Children and Youth Ministry

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING: SHARING RESOURCES AND CHANGING LIVES
WHEN IS ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING (OGHS)?
Most congregations receive "OGHS" on Easter Sunday,
Passion/Palm Sunday or both, while many receive it
throughout Lent—however, you can help sustain the
important PC(USA) ministries and programs that are
supported by One Great Hour of Sharing Offering by
making an online gift at any time throughout the year.
HOW IS MY GIFT USED?
A gift to One Great Hour of Sharing enables the church to
share God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the
world by providing relief to those affected by natural
disasters, provide food to the hungry, and helping to
empower the poor and oppressed.
Mission opportunity - would you like to paint in Honduras? Border Buddies is seeking help painting (with some preliminary sanding) newly constructed walls. Higher Hope Church (Big Flats) has a team, led by Al Erickson, going May 26-June 5, 2019 and there are a few openings. Please contact Higher Hope if you want to travel and serve the Lord!
Secure Document Destruction by Southern Tier Industries

Sullivan Street in Elmira.
Youth Ministry will have these security shred bags for sale for $20.00. $5.00 from
each purchase will stay here at North Pres to support our youth programming.
