GRADE 6 GRADUATES
Tomorrow we say goodbye to our current Grade 6 students – Mollie, Clarice, Brodie, Jodi, Callum, Amelia,
Deakin, Della, Kurtis, Lincoln, Lucy, Josh, Macy, John, Killeen, Abi and Travis. We wished Kristah farewell
earlier in the term. Amongst this group we have not only been lucky enough to have high level leadership
skills, academic skills, physical skills, performing skills and ICT skills, but some wonderful young people
who care about others, their community and their global environment.
We will certainly miss them next year but eagerly await our next crop of leaders coming through.
We wish our Grade 6’s all the best for Year 7 next year and look forward to them visiting us at some stage.
At our end of term Assembly tomorrow, we will farewell our Grade 6’s with a look through the power point
that was presented at their Graduation last night showing some of their favourite times at Axedale.
With Mollie, Travis, Della, John, Brodie, Lucy, Clarice, Kurtis, Macy, Killeen and Jodi finishing Grade 6,
we sadly say goodbye to their families and thank them very much for their support and friendship over the
years their children have been at Axedale. We look forward to seeing you out of school and
maintaining our friendships.
GRADUATION DINNER
Congratulations to our Grade 6’s and Ms. Bingham for a magnificent Graduation Dinner last night. The
students led the night very well and I know all of their parents were extremely proud of them. They were able
to enjoy a lovely meal together as well as watching each other on the big screen as we flicked back through
photos from the last seven years.
A big thank to Mel Bingham and husband Alex for the countless hours of time in preparing the music, power
points and presentation items for the students.
It was a magical evening.
END OF YEAR CONCERT
We are holding our End of Year Concert in the Axedale Hall TONIGHT. We ask for all students to be in the
hall by 6.30pm. Students are asked to wear something with an Aussie theme if possible, otherwise Christmas
clothes. The concert will begin at 6.45pm and will run for approximately one and a half hours. Each grade
will perform a number of items and we will also present our end of year awards. Families are
encouraged to bring water bottles as the temperature is very high.
CHRISTMAS HAMPER
Thank you to families for the donations of items for the Christmas Raffle – your support is greatly
appreciated. Thank you to PVF for their work in organising the Christmas Raffle. The raffle will be drawn at
the End of Year Concert tonight.
ATTENDANCE AWARDS
At Assembly tomorrow, Attendance Medals will be handed out to acknowledge those students with an absent
rate of 8 days or less for the year. In our Annual Implementation Plan, we have a stated target of an average
of 12 days or less per student per year to maximise student success. Research is clear that high attendance
rates improve the chances of academic success for students.
UNEXPLAINED ABSENCE LETTER

those families who have outstanding amounts. Please see Katrina

Students have recently been presenting their Passion Projects in class. We
have had a variety of topics from animals, space, farming and even contagious
yawning? The students made posters, powerpoint presentations, videos and
fun outside games to enhance their work. Congratulations to all students on a
wonderful job and thanks to the parents who helped out.

Axedale Primary School is a keen supporter of
Zoos Victoria mobile phone recycling complain.

the threats gorillas face from mining while
raising money to support primate conservation
and divert phones from landfill.

accessories such as chargers in ANY condition
are accepted.
To protect data, it is recommended to conduct a
factory reset before donating your phone.
Let's support endangered species programs and
