Lehi,referredtolocallyas“SiliconSlopes,”waschosenbecauseitiscentrallylocatedamidUtah’smajoruniversitiesandhasbecomeahubforUtah’sstart-upandtechcommunity,whichwillenableCivicaRxtodrawonlocalexpertiseandtalent.TheLehiofficewillhouseapproximately40peoplesoonandexpansionopportunitiesinLehiareexpectedtobringtheofficetofourorfivetimesthatsizewithinthreetofiveyears.CivicaRxexistsinthepublicinterestasanon-profit,non-stockcorporationfocusedonreducingchronicgenericdrugshortages,whichhavenegativelyimpactedpatientcareforoveradecade.ItwasfoundedbyleadingUShospitalsystemsconcernedaboutdrugshortagesandphilanthropicorganizationspassionateaboutimprovinghealthcare.“TogetherwecelebratethereasonwhyCivicaRxexists,inpurposeandinbrickandmortar,andthatistodowhatisinthebestinterestofpatientsbystabilizingthesupplyofgenericmedications,”saidMartinVanTrieste,CivicaRxCEO.“Drugshortagesstrainhospitalstaff,leadtodelayedsurgeriesandsub-optimaltreatmentsforpatients,andcanleadtounpredictablepriceincreasesthatresultinbudgetaryinstabilityinhospitals.”
