Introduction
It’s a fact. Everything we say and do in our businessactivities either enhances or diminishes the perception of our Civica brand. The way people think about Civica is influenced by many things. It involves the way wepresent ourselves as an organisation, our products and services and our behaviour.
At the heart of the brand is our identity, our visual meansof identifying Civica. The appearance of our letters,documents and reports, our advertising and promotion,our use of colour and symbols - all have a bearing on our reputation. If we are to succeed, corporate identitymust be an important asset. A single, cohesive brandimage will greatly enhance our presence with the publicand with our customers.
The Civica signature combines the two most importantvisual elements of our brand - the Civica symbol and the Civica logotype. The logo is the primary expression of the company’s new identity. Its proper application and reinforcement is essential for promoting andprotecting the value of our brand. Consistent, appropriateuse of standardised communications is also importantif we are not to dilute the impact of our identity.
This booklet is designed to help you use our identitycorrectly. It introduces the basic principles of our corporateidentity system and provides guidance on its frequentuse in the working environment. For any non-standarduse, please contact your local Marketing team.

The Civica logotype1.1
Only one logotype represents Civica. This consists of two speciallycreated elements, the Civica people‘C’ and the Civica namestyle. To maintain the effectiveness ofthese elements they must never bealtered, recreated or redrawn. Onlyuse the digital artwork availableon the master artwork CD, whenreproducing the logotype.
The Civica logotype is a specially drawnartwork and the Civica namestyle is notavailable on any typesetting system. The elements should never be re-drawn,stretched, squeezed or distorted in any way.
It is therefore essential that the brand markis always reproduced from the masterartwork supplied with the CD accompanying this document.
Landscape version
Portrait version
Landscape versionThe landscape version of the Civica logotypeis the preferred version to use, where sizeand space permits.
Portrait versionThe portrait version of the Civica logotype isonly to be used when due to space constraintsthe preferred version cannot be used. An example of this would be portraitsignage situations.

The area is created by a measurementcalled x, marked here in red. Thismeasurement is the height of the Civicanamestyle letterforms. It is repeated to thetop, bottom, left and right of the logotypeto form the exclusion zone.

Exclusion zone and minimum size1.2
An exclusion zone has been createdaround the logotype. No othervisual matter such as other logos,text or pictures should encroachupon this area.
Exclusion zoneIn order for the logotype to maintain itsstrength and clarity it should always remainuncluttered. The area indicated by the box ruleforms the exclusion zone. No other visualelements such as text, illustrations, graphicdevices, logotypes or photographs shouldever encroach upon this area.
When using the Civica logotype in conjunctionwith another company’s logo, ensure that thetwo are of similar visual size and prominence.
Minimum sizeIt is not recommended to reproduce thelogotype smaller than 35mm in width.
If you have any small reproductionrequirements, please discuss this with yourlocal Marketing contact.
Software icon designAn icon is available in the following sizes:16x16 pixels and 32x32 pixels. A digital copyof the icon is available on the CD included withthis manual.

Corporate colours
Colour plays an important role inthe Civica identity. When correctlymanaged colour will help to createcoherence in all the variedapplications of the identity.
All of the logotypes shown opposite areacceptable uses of the Civica identity and are available in high resolution format on theCD included with this manual. Ifyou have anyqueries regarding their use please discuss withyour local marketing contact. This sheet may beused as a proofing guide when matching Civicacorporate colours.
Please do not scale any of the provided artworkup in size as this will affect the quality. Shouldyou need any artwork at a larger size than hasbeen provided, please discuss with your localmarketing contact.
Pantone coloursThe Civica corporate colours are mixed toprescribed formulae under the PantoneMatching System® (PMS). Care should betaken that all items match as closely aspossible to the colour swatches in Section 8 of this manual.
Any printed item should be proofed to allowchecking prior to printing and a proof signedoff as being a correct match.
Different stocks can affect colour matchingand specific colours are specified for uncoatedand uncoated stock. Uncoated stock isconsidered to be matt in finish and coatedstock to be glossy in finish.
On coated stockThe Civica namestyle should print Pantone®2735 C Purple and the Civica people ‘C’ shouldprint Pantone® 8401 C Silver.
On uncoated stockThe Civica namestyle should print Pantone®2735 U Purple and the Civica people ‘C’ shouldprint Pantone® 8401 U Silver.
Four colour processThe Civica namestyle should print 96% Cyan,100% Magenta, 0% Yellow and 0% Black, andthe Civica people ‘C’ should print 3% Cyan, 0%Magenta, 0% Yellow and 32% Black.
Paint and vinylPaint colours for signage should be matchedto the corporate pantone colours.
On screen RGB colorsThe Civica namestyle should be set up as R: 67, G: 8 & B: 142 and the Civica people ‘C’should be R: 191, G: 194 & B: 195
Standard two colour and onecolour reproduction on whiteThe logotype appears on a white backgroundin three standard colourways: the metallicSilver Pantone ®8401 and the PurplePantone® 2735, All Purple Pantone® 2735,and All Black.
Standard two colour and one colourreproduction on a Pantone® 8401 Silver tintThe logotype can appear on a tintbackground of Pantone ®8401 Silver.Although care should be taken that thebackground silver tint is sufficently light toallow legibility, it is recommended that thetint does not print any greater than a 30%strength of Pantone ®8401 Silver. The example shown prints 20% ofPantone ®8401 Silver.

Incorrect uses of the logotype
The Civica logotype consists of twospecially created elements, theCivica people ‘C’ and the Civicanamestyle. To maintain theeffectiveness of these elementsthey must never be altered,recreated or redrawn. The Civicanamestyle is not available on anytypesetting system. Never attemptto set the namestyle yourself or toredraw the Civica ‘C’.
Incorrect usesThe examples on this page show someincorrect uses of the Civica logotype.
A Do not reverse the corporate colours,ie the Civica ‘C’ in Purple and the Civicanamestyle in silver
B Do not create patterns with the Civica ‘C’or the namestyle
C Do not reproduce the logotype in colours not specified in these guidelines
D Do not reproduce the logotype from a poor quality print or photocopy. Alwaysuse master artwork supplied on this CD
E Do not alter the relative positions ofthe Civica ‘C’ and the namestyle
F Do not stretch the Civica logotypehorizontally or vertically

Consistent typography is animportant element of the Civicaidentity system. The Evo typefacefamily has been chosen as theCivica corporate typeface. Pleaseensure that Evo is the primarytypeface used on all forms ofCivica communications.
