1. The Development of a Pre-Service Teachers Professional
Learning Network Mr. Brent Saccucci on Twitter!
2. But.. who to follow? Michele Ford discusses issues related
to educational policy studies, specifically in Alberta. Discussing
issues from MLAs, school boards, and professional bodies, Michele
is a great PLN resource because of the discussion she facilitates
amongst educational stakeholders - all the way to parents and
pre-service teachers. As a professional, great to know whats going
on behind the scenes in the education world. - St. Albert Public
Schools updates everyone from parents to community members to
teachers on news, events, and opportunities happening in their
school district. This is a great resource for me to have as a
hopeful future employee of this board because I get to see an
inside look onto whats going on in the district, what they praise,
what they stand for, and what issues they find important that maybe
I didnt realize beforehand. Also, its great for me to see whats
going on in the schools I hope to be teaching at!
3. One more must have resource to follow.. We Are Teachers has
been my biggest and most frequently utilized resource on my PLN
thus far because they tweet resources in almost every field. This
diverse tweeter has allowed me to explore concepts in Early
Childhood Education, Math/Sciences, and PD worldwide. PLUS, they
have a huge amount of followers (101,000+) that contribute to their
PLN daily. This is such an important resource for me as a beginning
teacher because if I need resources for courses Im teaching outside
my area of expertise, I can easily look through their twitter feed
to find some, or, tweet them to connect me, OR, look through their
followers for someone in the field that can help.
4. The Development of @VP__Education As of Nov. 27/13, 156
people/organizations follow me. This includes principals, education
organizations, bodies in higher education, and many, many teachers
provincially, and a few nationally. I have made 146 tweets about
education, technology, policy, and learning. The next few slides
will outline conversations, followers, and tweets about
teaching/education that have helped not only my employability, but
have grown my TPACK professional development.
