We are experts in solving gas sensing problems and pickthe most complex and untouched issues. HydrogenDetection was the first problem our scientists decidedto solve. Since all existing technologies for detectinghydrogen, like metal oxide semiconductor and catalyticpellistor, were generic and prone to issues like cross-sensitivity, range limitation and inability to withstandexposure to high concentrations of hydrogen, ourscientists embarked on a journey to create a uniquetechnology which would be specific, selective andintelligent only to hydrogen and be capable ofmeasuring hydrogen over a very wide range, withoutgetting damaged upon exposure to even 100% purehydrogen.In 2012, Indian Patent No. 252998 was awarded to uswith Mr. Ashokkumar Ramchandran, Director MNST,being sole inventor to a novel reference electrode anda method to create a hydrogen gas sensor using solidelectrolyte. Having successfully solved a major rangeand exposure limitation in Hydrogen Gas Sensing, wehave created an affordable yet high-performing suiteof Hydrogen Gas Detectors, beating globalcompetition.

General DescriptionMNST’s Hydrogen Sensors are based on Patented Technology (Indian Patent No. 252998 with effectfrom 14/06/2007). The transducer is a solid state electrochemical sensor based on solid electrolyte andproprietary solid reference electrode. It measures direct partial pressure of Hydrogen in any gaseousfluid environment. It is specific, selective and intelligent to Hydrogen and can tolerate exposure to even100% pure Hydrogen. These are vast improvements in bridging the gaps in Hydrogen sensingrequirement.

- Hydrogen is the lightest element and makes up about 75% of the elemental mass of the entire universe- It is odourless, colourless, tasteless and highly combustible in mixtures between 4% (LEL) to 75% (HEL) in Air- Hydrogen can ignite with very low energy input like an electrostatic spark from a human- Hydrogen travels at a speed of 1920 m/s, nearly 5.6 times the speed of sound- Hydrogen travels vertically upwards at great speed and accumulates in pockets at the ceiling surface
