I thought Revelstoke was in Quebec. Nobody told me about Loveland’s free snowcat tours. I couldn’t find the new hike-to terrain at Sugarloaf. The only powder I scored all year was on a donut.”Also: We send the Hanson Brothers on Whistler’s famed Spearhead Traverse. Wrap the knuckles in foil, boys. 2015/2016 Editorial Calendar
Skier, cyclist, trail runner, naturalist. We can attempt to identify the representative Mountain reader with one of those terms, but more likely than not, two or three might better describe that person. Backpacker, whitewater boater, snowboarder, angler, conservationist. The thing about labels is they’re constricting. Add in a few more tags like alpinist, informed citizen, advocate, and athlete, though, and you’re starting to get a feel for our people.
It might be helpful if you locate them in the landscape first. Easy enough. Mountain subscribers are the active individuals who recreate in and protect the mountains of North America. Mountains are the commonality. And Mountain gives voice to the people, places, and culture we all cherish. Marc Peruzzi, Editorial Director, Mountain
