4.5 Scatter Plots and Lines of Best Fit
1
Monday, November 9, 2015
Students will investigate relationships between quantities by using points on a scatter plot and use lines of best fit to make and evaluate predictions.

2
Bivariate Data Data with two variables.
Scatter Plot Shows the relationship between a set of data with two variables, graphed as ordered pairs on a coordinate plane
Positive Correlation As "x" increases, "y" increases.
Negative Correlation As "x" decreases, "y" decreases
No Correlation "x" and "y" are not related.
Line of Fit (Trend Line) When the data points all lie close to a line (trend line) can model the trend.
