Re: Letter to Clerk’s Association
Councilmember Mike Eveslage has spoken with the (former?) president of the Minnesota Clerk’s Association about the recent events and outcomes in Freeport regarding our previous Clerk. From my understanding the former president recommended to Mike to submit a letter to the Association explaining the actions of the previous Clerk, Mason Schirmer. Mike, I’m going to ask that you explain to council your knowledge and thoughts of this during the meeting. Council it will then be up to you all to decide if you want to proceed with writing a letter to the Association. If you decide to do so I will be in contact with Paynesville Clerk (former president) to see exactly the type of information they would find beneficial in knowing.

Re: Alley behind 4th Ave SE
Glen Meyer is requesting that the City maintain the alley located behind his and Scott Thielen’s home on 4th Ave SE. Glen stated that previous Public Works Director Joel Dasher used to dump all of the sand accumulated while sweeping streets in that alley, which now, has caused it to wash the alley away when it rains. I have received a verbal bid from Butch Thull at the expense of $400 to have two loads of class 5 dumped and grated out in the alley.

Re: Scott Dymoke attendance at council meetings
Mayor Atkinson brought up the idea of having City Attorney Scott Dymoke attend each of the council meetings until further notice. This would help especially during the topics such as billboards and other items that could use attorney advisement and keeping Mr. Dymoke “in the loop” of the discussions council is having. Dymoke charges $110.00 per hour, but he stated that if the meeting went over an hour he would charge a flat rate of $110.00. Council will have to take formal action on this topic, if choosing to do so.
