PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONLOCTITE Product 7075 is a solvent-based surface activator.It is designed to promote the cure speed of Loctite anaerobicstructural adhesives and sealants.

GENERAL INFORMATIONThis product is not recommended for use in pure oxygenand/or oxygen rich systems and should not be selectedwith a sealant for chlorine or other strong oxidizingmaterials.

Where aqueous washing systems are used to clean thesurfaces before bonding, it is important to check forcompatibility of the washing solution with the activator andadhesive. In some cases these aqueous washes can affectthe cure and performance of these materials. This product isnot normally recommended for use on plastics (particularlythermoplastic materials where stress cracking of the plasticcould result). Users are recommended to confirm compatibilityof the product with such substrates.

Directions for use1. Spray or brush the activator on one or both mating

surfaces to be bonded. For small gaps, treatment of onlyone surface may be adequate. Contaminated surfacesmay need repeated treatment or special degreasing priorto activation to remove any dissolvable contamination. Ifthe surfaces to be bonded are porous, or if gaps are large,for best results apply the activator to both surfaces.

NOTE: Because the solvent base can affect certainplastics or coatings, checking all surfaces forcompatibility is recommended.

2. Allow the solvent sufficient time to evaporate, under goodventilation, until the surfaces are completely dry.

3. After activation, parts should be bonded within two hours.Try to prevent any surface contamination before thebonding process.

4. Apply the Loctite anaerobic product to one or bothsurfaces, and assemble parts immediately.

NOTE: If activator is to be applied to only one surface, applyto the non-activated surface.

5. Where possible, for a few seconds move surfaces inrelation to each other to properly distribute the adhesiveand to achieve maximum activation. Secure theassembly, and wait for surfaces to fixture before anyfurther handling.

StorageProduct shall be ideally stored in a cool, dry location inunopened containers at a temperature between 8C to 28C(46F to 82F) unless otherwise labeled. Optimal storage is atthe lower half of this temperature range. To preventcontamination of unused product, do not return any material toits original container. For further specific shelf life information,contact your local Technical Service Center.

This product is classified as being highly flammable and mustnot be stored near oxidizing agents or combustible materials.Always seal activators bottle immediately after use.

Handling PrecautionsThis is a highly flammable material. When dispensing thismaterial from a pressurized system, only nitrogen or argonshould be used. Please check local, state and federalregulations regarding the use of flammable liquids in theworkplace.

CautionPRODUCT 7075 IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE. KEEP AWAYFROM FLAMES OR OTHER SOURCES OF IGNITION.

NEVER MIX ACTIVATOR AND ADHESIVE DIRECTLY ASLIQUIDS.
