EYFS Understanding the World - Chinese New Year

(PSED)-Manipulates materials to achieve a planned effect, constructing with a purpose in mind.(EA&D)

Success Criteria:• I must talk about the story of Chinese New Year.• I should talk about how people celebrate Chinese New Year.• I could make a Chinese Lantern.

Previous assessment/context:This lesson will be the beginning of the CNY topic and will therefore gauge their prior understanding of the celebration. The making of lanterns is in the context of showing the chn pictures of CNY celebrations and will be developed by a trip to China Town to see the lanterns hanging.
