Outreach
This time of the year brings our attention into focus on a
subject matter that really should be a constant in our lives:
Thanksgiving. A four-year-old boy said he was thankful for
his glasses. “Why?” someone asked him. “Because it
keeps the boys from hitting me and the girls from kissing
me!” With that humorous note, I think that we can find
ample things for which we should be thankful. God has
certainly touched all of our lives with so many amazing blessings! James reminds
us that "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down
from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of
turning,” (James 1:17).
But with those gifts comes a responsibility that we have to be good stewards of
those blessings. Stewardship is a lofty and dignified principle, not merely a
gimmick for getting money into the offering plates at church. It is God’s method
for operating and sustaining the things He was given us for His honor and glory.
As stewards, we recognize that 100% of everything belongs to God; and one day
when we stand before Him, we will give an account of what we have done with
His resources. This month may we be motivated by our thankfulness to God to
give Him our lives in complete devotion, living as a responsible and obedient
manager of His blessings to do His will!

Pastor Brent
We just had our family fall day in October, and we had 16 first time visitors! Thank you for your prayers and support.
Also, our family is doing well. Anna Leigh's surgery was moved up
to November 3rd at the children's hospital in Charlottesville. She will be five months old at the time of surgery. During the procedure, they will cut open the back of her skull and insert metal adjusters that will push the bones apart.
Please keep all of us in your prayers,
Jason & Holly Weaver
