El Presente Progresivo This tense uses the verb ESTAR and the "-ing" form of the verb (present participle). The forms
of estar are:
The present participle is formed by dropping the -ar, -er, or -ir infinitive ending and adding -
ando or -iendo.
Leer and traer are tricky. Adding "-iendo" gives the verb 3 vowels in a row which is very
awkward. These verbs take the present participle ending "-yendo".
leer → leyendo (not leiendo) traer → trayendo (not traiendo)

progressive.
