KADINA HIGH CAMPUS
Here is the front office.
Students need to go to the front office to pay money, to receive
first aid treatment, to see the Principal, to sign in when arriving
late or leaving early, or to meet their parents if necessary.

Kadina is a high school with around 500 students and 50 staff.

This is the only entrance for students to use to access the
front office.
There is another door to see Mr Townsend or Mrs Fields.

Mr Davies
Mr Townsend
Mr Davies is the Principal. He is here to
help everyone do their best and have happy
days at school. He does not teach classes,
instead he makes sure that the school runs
smoothly. His office is part of the main office.
Mr Townsend is the Deputy Principal, and
assists Mr Davies in the running of the school.
His office is also part of the main office.
Mr Townsend’s job is to ensure that the school
rules are followed, and he disciplines students
when necessary.
He sees students in the morning if they are on a
school contract. Mr Townsend is also available for
students to talk to when they have concerns.
Mrs Fields is the Head Teacher Welfare, and her office is also in the front office. Mrs Field’s
job is to make sure that everything goes well for
students and she is able to provide assistance in
many areas. If you are having any problems at school,
you can go to Mrs Field and discuss the problem with
her.

Mr Baker is the Executive Principal of
The Rivers Secondary College, which is made up of the three secondary public
high campuses of Kadina, Lismore and Richmond
River. The College also works closely with local
public schools in the area.
These schools make up The Rivers P-12 Learning
Community.
The Rivers Secondary College supports high
quality teaching and learning programs leading to
improved learning outcomes for students.
Mr Baker
Mrs Laverty is the acting Head Teacher of
The Rivers Secondary College. In her role, Mrs Laverty co-ordinates the shared
curriculum between the three campuses.
Mrs Laverty organises various staff and student
teams in the areas of sport, curriculum, leadership,
creative and performing arts
Among other things she also collaborates with the

Mrs Watts is our Chaplain and Spiritual
Learning teacher. She can be found in the English Staffroom.

Mr McCluskie is the School Counsellor. His office is between the PD/H/PE Staffroom
and the Front Office.
Mr McCluskie is trained to help students who may
have difficulties at school or at home. Your
teachers, or parents may make a referral for you to
see Mr McCluskie or you can refer yourself.

Kadina has a Girls Supervisor, who helps girls with any advice or problems.
Mr Noakes is the
acting Head Teacher Administration, and his office is off the staff common room.
Mr Noakes has the overall responsibility for uniform,
attendance and truancy.

Mr Clark
You will find Mr Clark in the
Maths Staffroom
Mr Clark is the Year 7 Adviser for 2016. He will be your Year Adviser until you finish school,
so you will get to know him very well.
Mr Clark helps to advise students with their
subjects, and with social issues. He will advise the
best action for students to take and if necessary
will talk with other staff.
Your parents are able to contact him about any
issues you are having at school.
Feel free to see Mr Clark whenever you need
anything…
He is always ready to help!
Learning Support
Mrs Mathieson and
Mrs Forsterling are the
LaST’s and they are in the
the Learning Support
staffroom. The Learning Support staff assist
students who may have additional
needs.
We also have the LaSER room where students are able to go to get
assistance with assignments
and class work.

Mrs Irene Clarke is the AEO (Aboriginal
Education Officer) at Kadina High Campus. Her job is to
provide support for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
students at Kadina. Mrs Clarke’s office is just outside the main
office on the way to the library.

Kadina High Campus has a large, well
resourced library. It is usually open at recess and
lunchtimes, but sometimes it needs to
close if there is a teacher meeting, or
other educational activities.
Many teachers take their class into the
library for some research lessons.
Mrs Fitzpatrick is the Librarian and Mrs Anderson is the
Library Assistant. They will help you find what you are looking
for in the library. Mrs Fitzpatrick will teach you during the year.

Kadina High Campus has a great canteen with lots of variety and
great prices. You can use the canteen at recess and lunch time. The
canteen is a bit like a cafeteria and you move along the line while
you collect your food and drinks and pay at the end of the line.
You can also buy the school uniform from the canteen.
Mrs Ryce is the Canteen Supervisor.

Kadina High Campus is proud of its uniform and it is worn by
students everyday.
If you can’t wear it one day, you will need a note from your parent/
carer saying why you haven’t worn the uniform.
You will need to give this note to your Roll Call teacher and they will
give you a Uniform Pass!
In winter we have
track pants, a polyester
jacket, a polar fleece
jacket and a woollen jumper.

When you get thirsty you can drink from any of the bubblers that
are around… or you can buy a drink from the canteen at recess or
lunch!

Each subject area has a Head Teacher. The Head Teacher is
responsible for the teaching and learning programs for that area as
well as the welfare and discipline for students.

Stuart Dobbie is our General Assistant. Stuart is responsible for assisting teachers with
resources and for keeping the school grounds neat
and tidy.
Stuart is very happy when students and staff use the bins provided
to dispose of their rubbish.
We have two ‘bin stations’. One is located in the Canteen area, the
other is on the MPC Steps.

All classrooms are labelled with a sign which has a letter and a
number on it. These are the same room numbers that are on your
timetable.
Some examples are:
Kadina High Campus also has an MPC. This stands for Multi Purpose
Centre. Sometimes PE lessons and Sport are in the MPC.
Usually school assemblies are held in there.
Other uses are: drama, exhibitions, exams.
There are many different areas to go and sit, play or have your
lunch in. These are just a couple of those places.

Kadina High Campus is a great place to be. There are many people
in the school to help you when you need it. Just ask!

Collect 5 faculty Merit Slips from one subject and
hand them into the teacher you have for that subject
to collect a Faculty Certificate of Merit Award!
Hand 3 Faculty Certificate of Merit Awards into
the Maths staffroom to collect a Principal’s Award!
Collect 3 Principal’s Awards, then
hand them into the Maths staffroom
and collect a Bronze Medallion!
Keep working hard in all your classes
to collect 5 more Principal’s Awards…
then hand them into the Maths staffroom
with your Bronze Award to collect a
Silver Medallion!
You can receive awards for working well in class… and you
get your name in the Newsletter!
For the final stage, collect another 7 Principal’s Awards, hand them into
the Maths staffroom with your Silver Award to collect your
Gold Medallion!
Finally, when you receive 3 Gold Medallions you will be able to
collect your KADINA GOLD.

Kadina has socials and casual dress days during the year…
they usually have a theme and most people get dressed up…
Our socials are held at the Lismore Workers Club.
We also have a lot of sports carnivals every year…
and our sport houses are:
Bradman—Green , Fraser—Yellow , Newcombe—Red , Cuthbert—Blue
There are lots of opportunities for you to get involved at
Kadina which means you will have a great time and make life
long friends!

Our SRC and Leo groups organise fundraisers throughout
the year which can be cake days, ice cream days, crazy
hair day or wear a particular colour accessory for a day.
