'Wben freshly manufactured material in bulk quantity is offered for inspection,representative samples of tbe material shall he drawn and tested as prescribed inIS 10627 : 1983 within 90 days of its manufacture, When the material is offeredfor inspection after 90 days of its manufacture, sampling shall be done asprescribed in IS 10627 : 1983. However, the criteria for conformity of tbemateriel when tested, shall be the limits of tolerances, as applicable over thedeclared nominal value and given under clause 2.3.1 of the standard.'

0.1 This Indian Standard was adopted by the Bureau of IndianStandards on 30 June 1987t after the draft finalized by the Pest ControlSectional Committee had been approved by the Agricultural and FoodProducts Division Council and the Chemical Division Council.
0.2 Cypermethrin Ee is used as an insecticide.
0.3 Cypermethrin Ee are generally manufactured to contain 10 or 25percent ( m/m ) of cypermethrin.
0.4 In the preparation of this standard, due consideration has been givento the provisions of the I".rtttieidts Act, 1968 and the Rules framed thereunder. However, this Itandard is subject to the restrictions imposedunder the Act and Rules, wherever applicable.
0.5 For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of thisstandard is complied with, the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordancewith IS : 2-1960·. The number of significant places retained in therounded off value should be the same as that of the specified value inthis standard.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Thls standard prescribes the rvquirements, and the methods ofsampling and test for cypermethrin EC.
2. REQ,UlREMENTS
2.1 COD.cltaea•• - The material shall consist of cypermethrin dissolvedin suitable solvent( s ) together with emulsifying agent( s) and with Or
without Itabilizer( s ).

2.1.1 10 percent Ee shall be manufactured from material conformingto Grade 1 of IS : 12017-1987-. 25 percent EC shall be manufacturedfrom material conforming to Grade 2 of IS: 12017-1987* or frommaterial conforming to IS : 12015-1987t.
2.2 Pby.ical- The material shall comply with the physical requirementsspecified in 2.2.1 to 2.2.4.
2.2.1 Description -:- The material shall he homogenous and stableliquid. Sediment and/or suspended matter shall be negligible. Ondilurion with water. it shall readily form an emulsion suitable for spray,
2.2.2 Cold Test - No turbidity or separation of solid or oily matter orboth shall occur when the material is subjected to the cold test at 10°0as prescribed in 13.1 of IS : 6940-1982: or at any other lower temperature as agreed to between the purchaser and the supplier. Introductionof a seeding crystal is not necessary for the test.
2.2.3 Flash Point ( Abel) - When determined by the method prescribedin IS : 1448 [ P : 20 ]-1960§, the flash point of the material shall beabove 24-5°C.
2.2.4 Emulsion Stability - Any separation includ .. t& creaming at the top'and sedimentation at the bottom of 100 ml of emulsion prepared instandard hard water with 2'0 ml of Ee for agricultural use, shall notexceed 2'0 ml when tested by the method prescribed in 13.3 of IS : 69401982~_
2.2.5 Heat Stability - After treating in accordance with the methodpreset ibed in 13.4 of IS : 6940-1982t, the material shall comply with therequirements specified in 2.2.1 to 2.2.4 and 2.3.1_

2.3 Chemical -- The material shall comply with the chemicalrequirements specified in 2.3.1 and 2.3.2.

2.3.1.1 The actual value of cypermethrin content in the formulationsshall be calculated to the second decimal place and then rounded off tothe first decimal place before applying the tolerance. given in 2.3.1.
2.3.1.2 The average cypermethrin content of all samples taken shallDot be less than the declared nominal CODtent.
2.3.2 Acidify - When tested by the method prescribed in 11.3 ofIS : 6940-1982*, acidity (as H.SOI) shall Dot be more than 0-15 percentby masl. The material shall not be alkaline when tested by litmuspaper.
. 3. PACKING AND MARKING
3.1 The material shall be packed as per requirements given in IS : 8190( Part 2 )-1980f.
3.2 MarklDI - The container shall bear legibly and indelibly thefollowing information and any other information a8 is necessary underthe Inse'ticid" Act and Rules:
a) Name of the material;
b) Name of the manufacturer or trade-mark;
c) Batch number;
d) Date of manufacture and date of expiry;
e) Net mass of contents;
f) Nominal cypermethrin content. percent ( m/m ); and
,g) A cautionary notice as worded in 1""elieitk, Act and Rules.

3.3 DIS CertlfieatioD Marking
The product mayalso be marked with Standard Mark.
S.3.1 The use of tbe Standard Mark is governed by the provisioDS of tbeBureau of Indian Standards Act, 1986 and the Rules Ind Regulations madethereunder. The details of conditions under which tbe licence Cor tbe use ofStandard Mark may be granted to manufacturers or producers may"be obtainedfrom theBUrelu of Indian Standards.
4. SAMPLING
4.1 Representative samples of the material Ihall be drawn as prescribedin IS : 10627-1983*.
5. TESTS
5.1 Tests shall be carried out by the appropriate methods referred toin 2.2.2 to 2.2.5" 2.3.1 and 2.3.2.
