Invicta hate squad
Well let me start my post by saying this is not a "HATE" post towards invicta or anyone in this
forum. I know that like every other forum we have our issues with certain brands etc... but we
keep it formal without trying to bash each others heads in two,Now i do not post very much not
becouse i don't want to but becouse i don't have the time. I do however love to read and
sometimes i find myself reading all the interesting posts that come from all the watchgeeks in
the forum. I find that i have learned more about watches etc... reading about what others think
of a brand, movement, price and this includes other threads that have nothing to do with
watches.Well in saying all that "WATCHGEEKS" is the first forum that i have ever joined
until 2 days ago.I have nothing to hide so i will put the initials of the forum which so many of
you probably already know "WL". I registered to be a member,i got excepted and was truthful
in the way that i stated that i belonged to another forum "WATCHGEEKS" and then the
sloughter began, Not even 5 minutes into the sight posters began saying i was a troll that i was
a Jim Skelton and Mike davis lover and some other CRAP I really can't say at this time so i will
just leave it as a PG rating for now.I can only tell you after a few choice words i felt like it was
time for me to go. Some of the garbage that goes down there has nothing to do with watches or
anything thing else. Some are just there to talk S..T and nothing else. Well i just wanted to say
that you really don't know how good you have it here, it could be worse alot worse. So i'm
happy to be back to my first and only forum. Thankyou for reading.

Thanks for sharing. Nothing we haven't heard....but it helps remind me personally to keep the
focus when I am on this forum on WATCHES and, whenever I can, the JOY I get from
WATCHES.

This is a civilized place, and watchgeeks are accepting of all brands..And on top of that the
community here is extremely helpful and knowledgeable..And we are all here because we
LOVE our timepieces regardless of the Brand...Sadly it's no surprise how you were treated at the
"WL" forum...

Yes, it is something many of us have experienced first hand as well. Thankfully this here is a
forum where differences in opinion are tolerated and also welcomed.
FWIW I don't know Mike Davis or Jim S personally... so I am neutral on that one, and I often
politely disagree with their opinions too.
Anyhow... welcome to WG brother

First off I would like to say Welcome to WatchGeeks. As for
the haters on those forums you speak of I do not give their
grievances much creedence. Most of the members on those
forums have been burned one time to many and have decided
to spend their lives waging a Vendetta against the company
that did them wrong. Invicta does have its share of problems,
but it will take more than someones diatribe against Invicta to
keep me from buying more Invicta watches in the future.

Thanks for the info. Sorry you had to run into people like that, but glad you're back home with
us. This was also my first watch forum. I joined just as I began my interest in watches. Because
of all the great people here, and all that I have learned and continue to learn, I have never given
a second thought to even testing another forum. Thanks to all the hard work of the owners,
mods, administrators and other members this is the only place I call home for my watch passion.
Keep the posts coming!

I don't always like Invicta as a company, but I wear one to work everyday. Invicta Elite I bought
8 years ago. Just bought another on ebay. Rosegold, silver dial. Looks brand new. Hope you
enjoy this forum!

Well it has been over 30 years since I was in elementary school and that behavior reminds me of
such actions. I am not going to bash any one site or those individuals as if this is how they chose
to live their lives, then so be it. I joined here not because I was a fan of Invicta, but to have a
comfy environment to learn about this great hobby without being criticized for what I like. I
have gained some real friends here thru thick and thin. This place has been a safe haven for me.
I have been an active member for almost three years and will continue so because this is a place
I call home.

When I am doing Google searches for certain watch related items I find myself on some of the
other forums and I can't help but to laugh at the hate that gets spewed on them. ZERO posts of
substance there.

Welcome back Joseph and I guess it goes like this here- and I LIKE IT.
NO PROBLEM in criticizing a brand or person- but it has to be BALANCED and TRUTHFUL.
If I own 30 Invicta's (insert you number here) and I have a problem with one that Invicta CS
screws up on- THE SKY IS NOT FALLING AND INVICTA IS NOT A CRAP COMPANY
BECAUSE OF IT. Jim Skelton is not a Invicta Shill because of it- Mike Davis is not a liar
because of it!
(Truth is for me I have bought and sold and own over 40 with but ONE problem they fixed in
less than 30 days- amazing QC for me personally)
It needs to be brought up and see if anything can be done but...
Nothing should deteriorate into bashing as it does on other sites that I have seen.
AND further more I have seen posts where Jim and Mike have personally intervened to make
things right for some fellow geek (CUSTOMER) kudos to them and it keeps me being a
member.
If people want controversy and bashing- there are plenty of sites to go to-I hope this never
deteriorates into that.

Pick just about any topic or hobby and you are likely to find the same type of situation.
Motorcycles, cars, RCs, anything. There is always a site where technical knowledge and
gathering for a positive purpose creates jealousy and seems to bring together that element you
saw on the other site. Call it human nature or some unexplained flaw in our genetics. Go figure.
Once I found WG I knew I did not need to belong elsewhere as far as watches were concerned.
Very simple: You can get with this or you can get with that, you can get with this or you can get
with that!

I dont understand where there coming from. All I know is ive been collecting just over a yr and
have purchased alot of Invictas and only had truble with 1 and Rebecca had me taken care of in
3 days. I went over to that site just to see and couldnt believe what was said. Not worth my time.
I'm not sure where you can go that the site is sponcerd by Jim Micheal and Invicta andthey let
you descussed about all the brands and other things we talk about. This is the ONLY site I
belong to.

They do make me laugh over there, can you imagine living your life trying too screw people
over. Once you think about that scenario imagine being a follower like the rest of the sheep over
there. I can not fathom following any one person like those people over there. But again I guess
"Everybody needs something to believe in" it kind of reminds me of the Jim Jones cult over
there. I guess I could only hope for the same outcome.
Oooooops did I just say that? LOL

True...when contacted and when they have the time, Jim and Mike can make all the difference.

It needs to be brought up and see if anything can be done but...
Nothing should deteriorate into bashing as it does on other sites that I have seen.

If people want controversy and bashing- there are plenty of sites to go to-I hope this never

I read one of these threads every other day....perhaps you should do a search before adding
another unnecessary post about this issue. It does nothing more than spawn debate that serves no
purpose...IMHO.

I think a lot of us have taken a look at the other site. What is funny is that they think everyone
here is an Invicta apologist, which is the farthest thing from the truth. I have seen some posters
here with huge post counts call out Invica on several issues. I like Invicta and own a couple and
admit that the company could do better in certain areas based upon what I have seen and read.
That being said I think the biggest problem with that other site is the personal vendetta a lot of
posters have against Invicta, its owner, ShopNBC and Jim and Mike. I just want to know who
held a gun to their head and made them purchase watches?

I for one do not know how anybody can call Mike D. a liar; anybody who uses helium before
talking on a national TV show is alright in my book!
Do it again!

Yeah but it's uncensored and you can say dirty words,Beavis and Butthead would be proud. I
checked it out on a number of occasions and really didn't learn much about watches. Learned
some fancy new words though. I'll let those cats make a mess in their own litter box, but they
sure have trouble dealing with this playground. To each their own. They say we are all sheep,
but their small membership seems to be the one with the all consuming need to agree with each
other. There are some very knowledgeable people there who have been on watch forums for
years so it's a free country they deserve their place to vent, I'll pass I prefer a more civil place to
hang out, there's enough negative crap in the world that I prefer my favorite hobby to be a
peaceful, relaxing respite from my chaotic life. If my hobby gets me that cranked up then it's
not worth my free time.

mmmm..... Yummy! Just what I was lookin' for. A dead carp to chow down on..... Some
people call them koi, but they're just bottom feeding carp... nothin' special, but an acquired
taste all the same. We're really not supposed to eat them, 'cause their nasty. But, what's a
Vulture to do?
Sorry you had to go there and endure the inhumanity of the wicked, Joseph.

I couldn't agree more. It seems that the people starting threads about this are just looking for
acceptance and they get it by prodding the vulgar and ignorant comments that they accuse others
of.

Careful Dave. They might bring their big brother with them.
Kind of ironic that this site was started as a sort of antithesis of those kind of forums, yet they
now use things we do and say here to feed their vitriol.
Oh well. Live and let live. (Anyone over there ever heard that one?)

Let me just say that a friend of mine told me about that "WL" forum sometime ago and he told
me what went on and i went and saw it for myself it was pure craziness. Is really sad to see some
people going so far with hate and pure anarchy just to hurt somebody .That forum owner and his
clowns hate Jim and Eyal with such passion that the focus is not on watches at all .Im not pro
Jim or Eyal and invicta is not even my brand of choice but let me say this i think Mr.Skelton
might have enough grounds to punch that guy in the face or sue him .

Joe,
I would imagine that in life, without the ability to compare,
we would never have a guage to measure what we have.
I have seen these posts about this other website.
The internet is like the ocean, an abyss of the unknown in some aspects.
Watch geeks is a community of artist's, who collect, discuss, and create, an art museum,
if you will, of fellow watch geek art collection and analysis, of appreciation.
That being, each member of the community, and their collection, their choices of engines,
and complications and desires of brand, and attributes of timepiece equipment.
Passion exists here, for opinion, desire and honest opinion of a given timepiece,
style, or price wrapped in size of timepiece as well.
I am puzzled but not surprized by other sites where the," Lord Of The flies," mentality is alive
and well.
I guess it's human nature, or a form of fear by others, as this community is civil,
fun, mind expanding in thought patterns, and contemplation of new ideas,
and improvement of existing idea's.
Enjoy yourself here and feel secure in knowing, that here we are all in a museum of
horological beauty,
and elsewhere, I imagine, a prize fight seems to exist.
I'll opt for the museum, I guess you like the museum of art as well.
Look forward to your interactions, posts, and threads. __________________

I'm not standing up for WL, which I don't belong to...but it doesn't take a lot of reading on
that site to realize that it's unabashedly anti-WG...so why would anyone go there, join, and
then announce that you're a Watchgeek?
Before you join another forum, maybe you oughta do your homework first. This is really
no different than going onto, say, a Ford forum and announcing that you're a Chevy lover.
Sorry, but it just doesn't make any sense.

Let me just say to the ones that think i made this post for acceptance or anything else, come on
now i graduated high school years ago. I made the post becouse of the experiance of it all, i
made it for the general public and the "NEWBEES" that are coming to this forum becouse i still
consider myself a "NEWBEE" when it comes down to watches and forums. I wanted to let the
public know that we at watchgeeks have it pretty good. Now must of the time we really do not
know the person behind the post but if you knew me you would understand that i'm neither a
follower or as some members put it need "ACCEPTANCE". Thank you one and all.

Jeez..
Oprah doesn't have as much drama. The fact that some people feel the need to say "look what I

everyone here, even innocent members who have never had a bad thing to say about any of them
personally. the site is not worth visiting, very little watch talk goes on. it is mostly hating on JS,
Michael and WGs, and of course Invicta. if you become a member there, you will most likely be
banned or warned here as the two sites cannot really coexist without turmoil. just an FYI

Well... If that is the case, then I am VERY GLAD to be here at WatchGeeks.net.
I haven't figured out the new, let me call it, "cyber anthropology," as to why some people on
some Forums get into flaming and super hurtful behavior that they probably wouldn't do if they
were in the same room. On the caricature side of things, there were a couple of guys that flamed
themselves so badly that real friendships got damaged permanently. Flaming out of control, I
feel, is akin to bullying.
I know someone who talks like, "Bevis & Butthead." I know 'cause I asked him to back down
his swearing I bit when we met in public. He said, "I am saying nothing worse than Bevis &
Butthead would." I said to myself, "Oh, God, help us!!"
Meantime, Joseph, you can relax and enjoy yourself here. The MOD(erators) do a great job. The
ONLY reason my watch collecting hobby has grown is because of the direct and friendly help I
have received here. And info I can share back is my payback to the kindness given me. Have
fun.

Put me in the confused and don't understand category as to what your expectations were when
you joined WL?
As other posters have indicated the two forums are about as diametrically opposed as they can
be. Look at the responses that members here have made about them and we all (or most all)
know how the WL members and owner feel about this place, JS, MD, Invicta, Shop etc.
Unless you went there to just look, and not participate with posts, there was no way it could
have lasted. If you supported WG in your posts or got into verbal sparring matches of course
you would be viewed as a troll, the same would happen to a WL member that would join here
and start airing their opinions in support of WL, they would be run out of here pronto!
Sometimes one needs to stay out of certain playgrounds, otherwise the bullies will gather.
my 0.5 cents.

Yes, that "other" site is a very negative place. HOWEVER... there are several responses in this
thread, right here on our beloved friendly WatchGeeks forum, that are nearly as bad as what is
posted daily over there. I'm talking about the dead fish posts in this thread. Those posts are not
funny, and they are down at the same level as what is posted at WL. Please don't stoop to that
level!
Eric.

I usually don't get involved in this stuff, but allow me to try to be a voice of reason.....
My only point here is: Who cares what anyone says? I think too many here are too sensitive.
These are just blogs, for heaven's sake. It's when people try to make these things into something
they aren't that makes the trouble begin.
On a personal level, criticism is part of my game. As a few of you know, I'm a singer and have a
few albums out nationally. They all were reviewed in national publications, and a couple of the
reviews weren't all the kind - in fact, one was pretty vicious. But I always harken back to what a
fellow singer once told me: "It doesn't matter what was in the review, as long as they spell the
name right."
I've lived by that credo ever since. I think most people believe I'm a nice guy, but you can't
please everybody. Plus, I'm very happy with my personal life and professional accomplishments,
and I don't need a website or a watch brand to validate my existence.
Aren't we supposed to be talking about watches? I think more than a few people need to take a
chill pill and start to enjoy the hobby again instead of making it some kind of end-all and be-all.
As we say in the blues, crazy, man, crazy!

If it was just all talk I would agree with you to a certain extent but it is not , certain
people made it personal and did things that went way above forum words. It is not
my place to say anymore but trust me you do not know the half of it. __________________

That is where things get out of line. Look, we all know the internet is filled with haters, bashers,
and the like. Some of them just get a charge out of trying to rile up a crowd. But, to take it to a
personal level as evidently they have is at least libelous. It is unfortunate...

I agree 100% We are here to talk about watches.. Why lower ourselves to their level & bring attention to this small forum of haters...

What I've gotten out of this thread (and several other threads posted about this lately) is, don't
visit other sites because they bash us. Why venture out when one can see bashing done right
here? It's o.k here though, becasue we are better. It's o.k if we do the bashing and act like the
very thing we accuse others of. It's all clear to me now, thanks.
I'm going to rush right out and join a "hater" group so I can get my feelings hurt, then come back
here and start a thread about it so I can be accepted here, stir the pot and sit back and watch
members here turn into "haters".

Apparently you're either not reading what i said or full of hot air. It was not meant to bash
anyone or be accepted by anyone. Read the post before thinking or knowing what a person is
feeling.Sometimes you learn more just being quiet!

Dont understand why the poster even wrote this
I dont get the whole thing at all. Why would the poster go over to another site put out that he's
from a site that they disagree with then come back and complain that he went over to said site
and that they were talking about us over there ?
Sounds like he has done the very samething that he claims the other site does.
That would be like me starting out in a club, army, group, crew, professing im in with said like
crew, leave to join another crew and spout out yeah I belong to that crew knowing full well that
most crews dont get along anyway and expect to get some sympathy. Come on man your wrong.
This whole thing you couldve kept to yourself instead of letting it out spewing more hatred and
kaiosk (sp?)
just saying

Had you just been quiet and done a search, you would have learned that these threads have been
started before and serve no purpose. None of this would be happening had you just been quiet.

The man was giving us a description of his experience over there nothing more, and nothing
less. Only now are those trolls enjoying this thread, because a selected few have decided Joseph
is in the wrong. Unreal!

Joseph I would suggest you request to have this thread shut down, to end the existing redicule
you are facing for no apparent reason. Just a thought.
