An abiding trust in your abilities to perform, a strong determination to
never give up and an unshakable belief in yourself are all you need to
conquer the pinnacles of success.

Education has to be taken to the masses; it needs to be rooted not in
rote learning but in a dynamic new pedagogy that fosters innovation
and the leadership mantra in each individual within the system.
Flexibility and rapid adaptation to the needs of the day have to be its
hallmark if we are to fulfill our vision of a Shining India’. I truly
believe that the priorities for our country are Health and Education. I
am grateful that we are one of the providers of these priorities.
I am forever an idealist. To me, the spirit of nation building has to be at
the core of our motivation if we are to break the shackles of age-old
beliefs and responses. A vibrant, corruption-free India can only be
built by a generation that has learnt to cherish those values our country was known for.
This vision is based on idealism. Our efforts are, we know, but a drop in the ocean. Yet, I also believe that
every drop in the ocean counts and these efforts can come to a wonderful fruition.
We fulfill our pledge towards "Make in India!".
Confucius reminded us that the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. We began with tiny
steps, and look forward to this journey as an adventure in learning and creating. The way ahead can only get
better.
Dr. Vijay N PatilPrincipal

With unprecedented and accelerating demand of miniature electronic communication and control devices, it has
been a challenge since quite a long time to study and research electronic materials, devices and circuits,
microprocessors, microcontrollers and their interfacing devices, related signal processing and efficient software
systems to drive them. On the other hand with the explosive growth of users of Information and Communication
Technologies (ICT) in the last two decades, there is a tremendous increase in deployment of communication
infrastructure, large carrier class wire-line and wireless networks for convergence of voice, data and video. Service
providers and operators are actively moving towards IP-based Next-Generation Networks (NGNs), where transport
over existing TDM infrastructure is being replaced with transport over IP infrastructure with very high Quality of
Service (QoS). Convergence of communication networks and miniaturization of devices and systems are posing
interesting technological and business challenges.
Hence, to tackle all such ever growing challenges in the fast growing electronics, networking and 2telecommunication industry, Dept. of Electronics and Telecommunication at I IT offers four-years, full-time
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) course in Electronics and Telecommunication. This course provides comprehensive,
theoretical, practical and real life knowledge of Electronics and Telecommunication as demanded by the industry
today and in the future.

2At I IT, placement is not an event; it is an on-going process. The logistics are a reflection of technical & skill
based talent honed by students during their academic years. It begins with counselling early in the Program,
continues with constant exposure to the industry and its dynamics by way of industrial visits, projects and
assignments which culminate in the final placement of our students. To give our students an edge over other
professional aspirants, we provide vocational training as well as sessions in professional communication
skills. We try and give equal opportunities to all our students.
In order that our students are unique in the present competitive world, we conduct regular training programs
on both Functional & Technical Skill Development. Our Training & Placement Department interacts with
Industry to deliver Guest Lectures on "Future Trends & Emerging Technologies" so that our students become
