The Girl Scout Cookie Activity Pin

All girls who participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program are eligible to earn the annual Cookie Activity Pin. When they earn the pin, invite girls to share their accomplishments in each of the 5 Skills. Here’s how girls achieve the 5 Skills through the Girl Scout Cookie Program:

1. Goal SettingSet personal learning goals. What do you want to learn this year? What do you want to do better? Share this with at least one other person or your group.

Set personal sales goals for yourself based on your personal and group goals. Keep a record of your accomplishments each year!

2. Decision MakingDevelop a basic business plan for your cookie sale.

Work as a team with other Girl Scouts to decide when and where you’ll sell cookies and what you’ll do with the money you earn.

3. Money ManagementDevelop a budget for accomplishing at least one of the goals you set in the Goal Setting step. Use this budget to help determine your sales goals.

Be able to explain how the money earned in the Girl Scout Cookie Program helps you, your group, and your council.

4. People SkillsPractice your “elevator speech” for customers about what you are selling, why you are selling it, and why they should purchase it.

Make a list of customers you will approach. Don’t forget people you sold to last year!

5. Business EthicsDiscuss how living the Girl Scout Promise and Law applies to what you do in the Girl Scout Cookie Program as a businesswoman.

Celebrating the 5 Skills with girls!

The Girl Scout Cookie Program: 5 Skills for Girls 21

The Cookie Activity Pinis available for purchase at your local store or through www.girlscoutshop.com.The pin is a different color every year.

July 5 - 8, 2018 • Memphis, TNWE’RE LOOKING FOR UPCOMING 11TH AND 12TH GRADE GIRLS FROM AROUND

THE COUNTRY WHO ARE HOPING TO BE AGENTS OF CHANGE FOR THEIR GENERATION. JOIN OTHER ASPIRING YOUNG WOMEN SEEKING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT THE KALEIDOSCOPE NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE!

www.kaleidoscopeNLC.comFor more information and to register visit our website at

The facts for women, and even more so for women of color, paint a picture of inequality. Women on average are paid 20% less than men. If you break the pay gap down by race and ethnicity, it is even worse: Black women are paid 37% less, and Hispanic women are paid 46% less. With values of inclusion, equity, and excellence, we seek to change the current view of leadership, providing positive role models so all young women can see that success is attainable.

During the conference, we will explore topics of diversity and inclusion, implicit

biases, perceptions of women and people of color in the media, and more. Girls will have the opportunity to hear from female leaders in the fields of STEM, business, politics, and media. By teaching girls networking skills and resiliency, we hope they leave this conference prepared to demand a seat at the table.

Beyond engaging sessions and inspiring speakers, the girls will have the opportunity to explore Memphis with a bus tour of the soul music of Memphis and tour of the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorriane Motel. Visit our website for more information!

As cookie season is upon us, we want to take this time to embrace the Stand Beside

Her messaging more than ever! With the competition and comparison that affects all girls and women throughout the year, cookie season can bring that to the forefront for Girl

Scouts. However, when we stand together and support each other, success and the rewarding

feeling of working together is endless. We need your help in spreading the Stand Beside Her message this cookie season!

Show your support by sending us a video showcasing how your troop is standing

together and supporting each other’s goals during cookie season! Videos will be featured on the council website, Facebook page, and

YouTube channel and on the Stand Beside Her website and Facebook page!

Video Tips How To’s:• Wear your uniform or Girl Scout swag.• Showcase your cookie booth.• Avoid noisy environments as much as

possible.• If using your smart phone, hold your

phone horizontally. • Recording length should be no more than

60 seconds. • Email completed video (or a link to

your video via a service like Google Drive or Dropbox) to Alison Coons at [email protected]

Her, supporting each other’s goals during cookie season?

• Why is it important to Stand Beside Her during cookie season?

• How can other Girl Scouts Stand Beside Her during cookie season?

General Messaging:National Stand Beside Her Movement calls for girls to be supportive of all girls. To be happy

when others succeed and celebrate their success without comparing to them. To stand up for other girls, making sure that everyone is

included and supported. Format:
