About the Book
Shri Guru Bhagavat originally written in Odia language is an unparalleled creation of Guruji Shri Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, after his sojourn and evolution in the spiritual realm. If his recently published poetic treatise “Gopyaru Agopya” is considered a treatise of spiritual knowledge, then Guru Bhagavat is a book on devotion. This book elaborately depicts the theme of devotion towards the Guru with the basic features of Guru tradition. Not only in Odia, but also in any regional language of India, there seems to be no such book containing the theme of Guru tradition in its totality. This treatise contains invaluable aspects of human life like the greatness and uniqueness of Shri Guru, the different levels of Gurus, the Guru-disciple relationship and the importance of rendering services to the Guru and is written in the poetic meter (each line with nine letters in a couplet form) of the Bhagavat written by Shri Jagannath Das. For every traveller in the spiritual journey, who aims to cross the ocean of worldly existence holding on to the boat of the Guru, this book is worth a treasure collection for daily reading. Such is the influence of this book that even non-Odia speaking people outside Odisha have started learning Odia language in order to understand it. This book has been published in four parts. This book is the English translated version of the first part of Guru Bhagavat. It will help the English speaking readers to understand and appreciate the highly evolved spiritual theme of “Shri Guru Bhagavat”. Since quite some time, a few stanzas of this treatise are devotionally being recited as prayers, in Sai temples and in the small areas of Odisha. The prayers released in the CD's and Cassettes have been well accepted by the masses.
Now that it is available in the form of a complete book, there is no doubt that the readers and devotees will be benefitted in various ways.
