Overall
• All projects have some activities that may need support beyond 2014
• In the wheat product catalogue one product deleted and several added (14)
• Sources for documentation identified and actions set against names to provide data to IBP
• Agreed that a more detailed costing of activities to be completed to be provided mid October to provide the basis of a plan going forward.
Molecular breeding and selection strategies to combine and validate QTL for improving WUE
and heat tolerance of wheat in India
Products forecast December 2014 Extensive phenotype on 145 lines evaluated at 4 locations for heat and drought QTLs for WUE identified in 4 MARS populations

Breeder friendly high-throughput phenotyping tools to select for wheat adaptive traits in drought
environments
Products forecast December 2014 Novel large-scale phenotyping methodologies for drought adaptive traits in spring wheat based on a combination of methods (Crop reflectance; canopy temp and visual observations) A database for up to 245 genotypes of the phenotypic expression for ground cover (GC), canopy temperature (CT), carbon isotope discrimination (CID), soluble stem carbohydrates (SSC) and yield and agronomic traits

drought environments
Activities beyond 2014 (or requiring additional resources) Method combining image capture and crop simulation modelling to estimate patterns of WU and Transpiration Efficiency throughout the growth cycle Environment characterization of key locations in India & China using historical weather records to estimate most probable in season stress occurrences (new activity)
