Division: Canned FoodsThe judging guidelines are printed to help you prepare your entries.1. All canned goods must be in standard canning jars, sealed with two-piece lids, using appropriate heat processing and less than one year old. Paraffin in not an acceptable seal. Bands should be in place for transporting jars, but will be removed for judging.2. Entries must be labels with product names, date of preparation, processing method, length of processing time and recipe source. Entries with incomplete label will be disqualified. Example of qualified label:
3. All foods must be canned according to 1989 or later USDA, University Extension, Ball or Kerr guidelines. (Disclaimer: mention of brand names is for educational purposes only and not an endorsement.) Contact your County Extension Office for help or new recipes. 4. General Rules and Regulations1. Entries will be received Monday, July 8th from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Doors will close for judging promptly at 11:00 a.m.2. Pre-registration is required for the 2019 fair. ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY!3. Each class will accept entries for three age division: 12 and under, ages 13-21 and ages 22 and above.4. Exhibitors may exhibit in as many classes as they wish. However, exhibitors are limited to two exhibits per class.5. All articles must be the work of the exhibitor.6. NO POSTERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.7. Any article will not be eligible for competition in the same class in which it was previously exhibited.8. When there is not competition in a class, articles will be awarded according to merit. No ribbon and premium will be awarded
unless quality merits. In classes with one exhibit, first place will be awarded only if the judge(s) feels exhibit is worthy.9. The Lincoln County Fair will make reasonable effort for a secure display area. The Lincoln County Fair, Inc., members of the
board of directors, nor superintendents/assistant superintendents assume no responsibility for loss of or damage to exhibits. 10. Judges decisions are final.11. Best of Show ribbons will be awarded in the following categories: Breads; Desserts (cakes, cookies, candies); Canned

1. Eligibility of Fleeces: In order to compete for prizes, each fleece must: (a) have been shorn in 2019; (b) represent not more than 12 months growth except that in the case of yearling fleeces 18 months growth will be allowed. Qualifications: Any fleece entered in competition at the Wool Show will be discriminated against if: A. Showing any paint or tar brands (soluble branding fluids permissible) B. Showing excessive dung locks or tags C. Discolored by excessive moisture D. Cotted E. Showing a weak staple or break in fiber F. Containing any excess burrs or other vegetable matter
2. Preparation of Fleeces: Fleeces will be skirted and may be tied with paper fleece twine, flesh side out, or controlled in a
manner to allow their being handled without falling apart.3. Fleeces should be entered on Monday July 8, 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Main Exhibit Hall at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.4. Premiums will be paid on 1st through 4th places in each class.
Premiums will be: 1st - $7; 2nd - $6; 3rd - $5; 4th - $4. Overall Champion (Best of Show) will receive $10.00 additional premium.

5. Each Exhibitor will be expected to keep their pens and areas clean. Sawdust will be provided in cattle barn. However, exhibitors are still responsible for keeping the exhibit area clean and orderly. No straw bedding will be allowed in cattle barn.
6. Abuse of animals will not be tolerated. Should an abuse be observed toward an animal, either in the barn or in the show ring, superintendent has the authority to dismiss/disqualify animal and exhibitor from the show.
. No assistance in showing animals will be allowed in classes unless approved by the show officials.
8. Swine Breeding Shows will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday July 12, Cattle Breeding Show will 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12 or immediately following swine show. Release date and time for the Swine and Cattle Junior Breeding Show is Friday, July 12 at conclusion of respective show. Sheep Breeding Shows will be on Saturday, July 13 starting at 9:00 am. Sheep will be eligible for release at the conclusion of the Sheep Breeding Show.
9. No grooming chutes will be allowed in the show barns except day of show. 10. If there are two or less exhibitors in one breed, they will be shown in a
combined class at the discretion of the show committee. 11. Errors in premium payments not reported to Lincoln County Fair by August
31, will stand as paid. 12. No dogs are allowed on the Fairgrounds. 13. ELIGIBILIT OF 4-‐H & FFA MEMBERS
Entries in the 4-‐H outh Department are limited to Lincoln County 4-‐H member who have passed their 8th birthday and not passed their 19th birthday before January 1 of the current program year and whose enrollment is on file in the Lincoln County University Extension Center. Active members of High School FFA Chapters (9th grade and above) who are continuing their supervised agricultural experience program are eligible. FFA members must have a current enrollment on file with the Lincoln County University Extension Center by November 1 of the program year (October 1 through September 30). Members of both the 4-‐H youth development program and FFA must be in good standing with their respective organi ations.
14. CODE OF ETHICS Believing it is in the best interest of all unior exhibitors to maintain a reputation of integrity and to present a wholesome and progressive image, the Lincoln County Fair sets forth the following regulation: 4-‐H and FFA members are expected to conduct themselves according to the best traditions of their respective organi ations. Inappropriate conduct (drinking, vandalism, stealing and indiscreet behavior) WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Any violation of this rule will be grounds for disqualifying the

exhibitor and/or livestock involved. Further, any premium monies and/ or awards earned will be forfeited.
15. CHECK-‐IN WITH SUPERINTENDENTS Upon arrival at the fairground, contact should be made with the Breeding Livestock Superintendent for your division. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have their entries checked in with the superintendents listed in the show books.
16. SHOWING a. Uncontrollable animals or animals which the exhibitor cannot handle
alone, may be disqualified by the Superintendent and required to leave the ring.
b. In cases where a member has more than one animal in a class, another unior exhibitor must show the animal.
c. Minimal assistance is allowed by another unior exhibitor at the discretion of the superintendent.
1 . PUBLIC RELATIONS All stalls and pens must be cleaned before 8:00 a.m. each day and refuse deposited as directed by the superintendent. No advertising of feeds or other agricultural products will be permitted in or around the grounds or stalls. All cots, bedding, and other personal belongings must be kept out of the aisles and stalls between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Behavior of exhibitors will influence public opinion of their organi ations. They are expected to conduct themselves in a proper manner.
18. COMPLIANCE REGULATIONS Any exhibitor who refuses to parade their animal(s) when asked to do so by the superintendent in charge, or who otherwise disobeys rules in the fair book, will thereby forfeit their right to exhibit and any premium they may already have won. All livestock exhibits will be exhibited at the sole risk of the exhibitor.

2. Individuals wishing to exhibit rabbits at the Lincoln County Fair must be a member in good standing with a 4-‐H Club or FFA Chapter. All 4-‐H and FFA members must attend a minimum of 6 rabbit pro ect meetings to be eligible to show. This requirement must be met by June 15th.
3. Each member must have a minimum of two (2) does and one (1) buck by January 1 or earlier. Exception: if more than one member from a family and all own the same breed of rabbit, the members may share one buck, but each member must have their own minimum of two (2) does.
4. At the Lincoln County Fair, each member must show his/her own rabbits. No one is allowed to help in the barn during the show except other rabbit pro ect members. Older members are expected to assist the new/younger members as needed. Exception: if a member is sick (under a doctor’s care), in the hospital, or has an in ury that prevents them from safely carrying their rabbits (broken bone) another rabbit pro ect member may show their
rabbits for them. County rabbit leader should be notifies prior to the show if this is necessary.
5. Breeder rabbits must be purebred (follow ARBA Standard of Perfection). 6. Entrants will follow the General Junior Livestock rules and regulations. . Entrants are limited to a maximum of 25 animals. Exhibitor may have no
more than one (1) Market Fryer rabbit, one (1) meat pen. In the breeding classes, each exhibitor will be limited to showing two (2) breeds per class and two (2) rabbits per breed. NOTIFICATION REGARDING PHOTOGRAPHING YOUTH PARTICIPATION AT THE FAIR Public Relations are an important part of the Lincoln County Fair. Photographs are used in various print and elec-tronic media to recognize members for their work and to let others know what is happening at the Lincoln CountyFair. If you prefer that your child not be photographed at LCF events, we want to work with you to keep his or herphoto from being taken. Because there are so many youth involved in the Lincoln County Fair, we cannot assureyou that your child will not be photographed. We will ask official photographers to honor individual’s requests notto be photographed. Please visit with your children about your wishes and encourage them to let photographersknow that they request not to be photographed. Should a photo of your child be made and used against your wish-es, please let us know so that we will not use it again in the future.
laboratory pertains to the sample taken from the animal in questionand correctly reflects the condition of the animal at the time the sam-ple was taken, with the burden on the owner, exhibitor, fitter, trainer,or absolutely responsible person to prove otherwise.
At any time after an animal arrives on the fair or livestock showpremises, all treatments involving the use of drugs and/or medicationsfor the sole purpose of protecting the health of the animal shall beadministered by a licensed veterinarian.
5. Any surgical procedure or injection of any foreign substanceor drug or the external application of any substance (irritant, coun-terirritant, or similar substance) which could affect the animal’s per-formance or alter its natural contour, confirmation, or appearance,except external applications of substances to the hoofs or horns of ani-mals which affect appearance only and except for surgical proceduresperformed by a duly licensed veterinarian for the sole purpose of pro-tecting the health of the animal, is prohibited.
6. The use of showing and/or handling practices or devicessuch as striking animals to cause swelling, using electrical con-trivance, or other similar practices are not acceptable and are prohib-ited.
7. Direct criticism or interference with the judge, fair or live-stock show management, other exhibitors, breed representatives, orshow officials before, during, or after the competitive event is prohib-ited. In the furtherance of their official duty, all judges, fair and live-stock show management, or other show officials shall be treated withcourtesy, cooperation and respect and no person shall direct abusiveor threatening conduct toward them.
8. No owner, exhibitor, fitter, trainer, or absolutely responsibleperson shall conspire with an other person or persons to intentionallyviolate this code of ethics or knowingly contribute or cooperate withanother person or persons either by affirmative action or inaction toviolate this code of ethics. Violation of this rule shall subject suchindividual to disciplinary action.
9. The application of this code of ethics provides for absoluteresponsibility for an animal’s condition by an owner, exhibitor, fitter,trainer, or participant whether or not he or she was actually instru-mental ln or had actual knowledge of the treatment of the animal inviolation of this code of ethics.

The act of entering an animal is the giving of consent bythe owner, exhibitor, fitter, trainer, or absolutely responsible personto have disciplinary action taken by the fair or livestock show forviolation of this Code of Show Ring Ethics and any other rules ofcompetition of the fair or livestock show without recourse againstthe fair or livestock show. The act of entering an animal is the givingof consent that any proceedings or disciplinary action taken by thefair or livestock show may be published with the name of the viola-tor or violators in any publication of the International Association ofFairs and Expositions, including Fairs and Expositions and any spe-cial notices to members.
11. The act of entering an animal in a fair or livestock show isthe giving of verification by the owner, exhibitor, fitter, trainers, orabsolutely responsible person that he or she has read the IAFENational Code of Show Ring Ethics and understands the conse-quences of and penalties provided for actions prohibited by the codeIt is further a consent that any action which violates these rules and isalso in violation of federal, state, or provincial statutes, regulations, orrules may be released to appropriate law enforcement authorities withjurisdiction over such infractions.

SHOW RING ETHICS
Exhibitors of animals at livestock shows shall at all timesdeport themselves with honesty and good sportsmanship. Their con-duct in this competitive environment shall always reflect the higheststandards of honor and dignity to promote the advancement of agri-cultural education. This code applies to junior as well as open classexhibitors who compete in structured classes of competition, Thiscode applies to all livestock offered in any event at a livestock show.In addition to the “IAFE National Code of Show Ring Ethics,” fairsand livestock shows may have rules and regulations which theyimpose on the local, county, state, provincial and national levels.
All youth leaders working with junior exhibitors are under anaffirmative responsibility to do more than avoid improper conduct orquestionable acts. (Their moral values must be so certain and positivethat those younger and more pliable will be influenced by their fineexample.) Owners, exhibitors, fitters, trainers and absolutely respon-sible persons who violate the code of ethics will forfeit premiums,awards and auction proceeds and shall be prohibited from future exhi-bition in accordance with the rules adopted by the respective fairs andlivestock shows. (Exhibitors who violate this code of ethics lessen theintegrity of all livestock exhibitors and should be prohibited fromcompetition at all livestock shows in the United States and Canada.)
The following is a list of guidelines for all exhibitors and alllivestock in competitive events: 1. All exhibitors must present, uponrequest of fair and livestock show officials, proof of ownership, lengthof ownership and age of all animals entered. Misrepresentation ofownership, age, or any facts relating thereto is prohibited
2. Owners, exhibitors, fitters, trainers, or absolutely responsiblepersons shall provide animal health certificates from licensed veteri-narians upon request by fair or livestock show officials
3. Junior exhibitors are expected to care for and groom theiranimals while at fairs or livestock shows.
4. Animals shall be presented to show events where they willenter the food chain free of violative drug residues. The act of enter-ing an animal in a livestock show is giving of consent by the owner,exhibitor, fitter, trainer and/or absolutely responsible person for showmanagement to obtain any specimens of urine, saliva, blood, or othersubstances from the animal to be used in testing.
Animals not entered in an event which culminates with theanimal entering the food chain shall not be administered drugs otherthan in accordance with applicable federal, state and provincialstatutes, regulations and rules. (Livestock shall not be exhibited ifthe drugs administered in accordance with federal, state and provin-cial statutes, regulations and rules affect the animal’s performance orappearance at the event.)
If the laboratory report on the analyzed saliva, urine, blood, orthe sample taken from livestock indicates the presence of forbiddendrugs or medication, this shall be prima facie evidence such substancehas been administered to the animal either internally or externally. Itis presumed that the sample of urine, saliva, blood, or other substancestested by the laboratory to which it is sent is the one taken from theanimal in question, its integrity is preserved and all procedures of saidcollection and preservation, transfer to the laboratory and analysis ofthe sample are correct and accurate and thereport received from the
