The F8 restaurant is located in the heart of Helsinki on the 8th floor of Stock-mann, the largest department store in the Nordic countries. F8 restaurant is the flagship restaurant of Fazer Oy, the largest food service company in the Nordic and Baltic countries, and also the biggest restaurant complex in Hel-sinki. The project was completed in two phases, spring 2009 and second phase the following spring.
The F8 houses a total of 8 restaurants, bars and cafes, including the luxurious champagne bar “Sweet”. The challenge for a brief such as this; was to design a variety of restaurants, that can fit 800 seats, all with a different visual image, catering for a variety of foods yet ex-ecuting a relaxed, personal environ-ment with clear wayfinding strategy to all spaces. GI design was responsible of the visual image of all the restaurants, as well as the architecture and interior design.
