Why do we give during Lent?
What we are given by God is not meant just for us.
God intends for us to share with others.
“To be a Christian means that we love our neighbor both near and far.”

Why do we Fast during Lent?
Depriving OURSELVES of a basic necessity reminds us of our dependence on
GOD for all we have.
Fasting during Lent means eating one main meal and
two smaller meals with no snacks. Fasting laws apply to all
Catholics from ages 14 to 59 who are in good health.
The only fasting days by Church law
are Ash Wednesday
and Good Friday.
Why do we serve others during Lent?
Our time given by God is not meant just for us. God intends for us to share our
time with others.
