Smutz Strikes Out! Red Sillerud just last week said it was only a matter of time before someone would hit a 300 game at El Cor De
Lanes or Vick’s Lanes in Nashua — both bowling alleys are smoking hot for high games and series these days.
Well, it happened last night at Vick’s Lanes as Verlin “Smutz” Borgen let it roll, pitching a perfect 300 score in his
rst game of the evening. Tihista Construction teammates include Rick Tihista, Mark Bengochea, Matt GarsjoZac Garsjo, and Ruth Erickson. This marks the fth 300 game on record at Vick’s Lanes. Great job, Smutz!

Iffy? Talking with Ryan Stone last Friday, he wanted to getout and do some ice shing, but had heard that the iceon Fort Peck Reservoir was a little “iffy”. Fast forward toWednesday, February 10th (Ash Wednesday) and we
would say it’s iffy at best! Pretty much the entire length oFort Peck Dam now has open water and the ice in the bayslooks pretty rotten. While we’re not experts on good ice o
bad ice, you won’t catch us venturing out on that stuff.
So... how about the annual Ice Fishing Derby? Some anxious anglers arebeginning to wonder about the IceFishing Derby.
Te Glasgow Area Chamber oCommerce & Agriculture will holdthe 19th Annual Ice Fishing Derbyon Saturday, February 27th at thethe Dredge Cuts rout Pond locatedon Highway 117 between Fort Peck
and Nashua.“Right now it’s still a go,” says
the Chamber’s Lisa Koski. “FWPchecks the ice or us on a weeklybasis and right now there is stilleight-to-ten inches o good ice.” O course, i these above-temperatures persist — and that’sthe orecast well into next week —
that could change. Regardless, Lisa says we’regoing to make a un day o it oneway or another. Here are the tentative plans theway they stand right now: Registration is rom 10 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February27th. Fishing is rom noon to 3:00.

The 18th Annual Ice Fishing Derby proved to be anextremely tough bite as only one fish was caught.
1st place of $2,000 went to Travis Kittleson andJosh Palm as they battled with a 0.62 pound perchand was finally able to get on the ice. The remainingprizes were drawn for. 2nd place and $500.00 waswon by Chris Mortenson of Glasgow; 3rd, $200.00
to Joe Panburn/Miles City; and 4th, $50.00 to RickViste/Nashua. Should the ice not be safe enoughon February 27th, Lisa Koski and the committee iskicking around the idea of a lottery, as has been
done in the past. Regardless, they’ll be making a
fun day of it one way or another, so please plan on
attending.

Guys just don’t get it...The Perfect Gift
Jim asked his friend, Tony, whether he hadbought his wife anything for Valentine’s Day. “Yes,” came the answer from Tony, who was abit of a chauvinist, “I’ve bought her a belt and a
bag.” “That was very kind of you,” Jim added, “Ihope she appreciates the thought.” Tony smiled as he replied, “So do I, andhopefully the vacuum cleaner will work better nowthat I’ve bought these replacement parts.”
For That Special Someone
Roger, who was 19 years old, was buying anexpensive bracelet to surprise his girlfriend onValentine’s Day.
The jeweller inquired, “Would you like yourgirlfriend’s name engraved on it?”Roger thought for a moment, grinned, and thenanswered, “No; instead, engrave ‘To my one andonly love’.”The jeweller smiled and said, “Yes, sir. How veryromantic of you.”Roger retorted with a g lint in his eye, “Not exactlyromantic, but very practical. This way, if we breakup, I can use it again!”
Meaning Of Dreams
A young woman was taking an afternoon nap. After she woke up, she told her husband, “I justdreamed that you gave me a pearl necklace forValentine’s day. What do you think it means?”
“You’ll know tonight,” he said. That evening, the man came home with a small
package and gave it to his wife.Delighted, she opened it--only to find a book
entitled ‘The Meaning of Dreams.’
