DUtIEs• Prepares,researches,investigatesandcompletespolicereportsfiledbycitizensinperson,viatheinternet,andoverthephone.Relievesswornpoliceofficersofnon-hazardouspolice-relatedduties.

• Actsasaliaisonbetweenthecommunityandthepolicedepartment,whileperformingdutiesthatrequiresoundjudgmentandattentiontodetail.

• Receivesandscreensvisitorsandtelephonecallstoprovideinformationoroptionsforthoseneedingassistance.

• Handlesissuesthatmayrequiresensitivityandtheuseofsoundindependentjudgment;conductsresearch,respondstorequestsforinformation,referstherequestorcomplainttoappropriatestaff,andtakesorrecommendsactiontoresolvetheissue;greetsanddirectsvisitors.

QUaLIFICatIOns• Mustbeaminimumof18yearsofagebythefinalfilingdate.

• Highschooldiplomaorequivalent and two(2)yearsofemploymentexperience,whichincludessubstantialpubliccontactandgeneralofficesupportwork. 

• Mustnothavehadanyfelonyconvictions. 

• MustpossessavalidNevadaClassCdriver’slicenseandhaveanacceptabledrivingrecord. 

• Mustbeabletotypeaccuratelyattherateof40networdsperminute.

Experience Guidelines:

• Experienceinalawenforcementenvironmentandindetailedrecord-keepingarepreferred.Bilingualskillsarepreferred.

Licenses and Certificates:

• MustobtainNCIC/NCJIScertificationwithinsix(6)monthsofhire.Trainingisprovided,butemployeeisresponsiblefortestingandreceivingcertification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Theabilitytofollowandinterpret writteninstructions

• Beabletocompletewrittenreportsandcitationsaccurately

DUtIEs• Entercaseinformationintodatabase.Deliveremergencyandnon-emergencymessages.Contactswornpersonneltohandleappropriatesituations.Referreportstopatrolofficerifimmediatefollow-upisrequired.

• Relieveswornpolicepersonnelbyhandlingtime-consuming,non-hazardouscalls,andeffectivelycommunicatingwithstaffandcitizens.Inspectvehiclesandsignoffonfix-ittickets.Maintaindetailedrecordsofworkperformed.

• Collectevidenceandcompleterequiredsupportingdocumentsforprocessingandbookingfortheevidencedivision.

• Maintainvisibilitybypatrollingresidentialandcom-mercialareas.Mark,cite,tag,andremovevehiclesfromcitystreets.Citeparkedvehiclesforvariousviolations.Arrangeforthetowingofvehicles.Com-pletereleaseformsforimpoundedvehicles.

• PerformVINinspectionsandcompleteDepartmentofMotorVehicleinspectioncertificatesforcitizens.

• Signforsubpoenasanddeliveries.Testifyincourtasrequired.

• Assistcitizenswithavarietyofinformationanddirections.Workwiththementallychallengedandthehearingimpaired.CoordinatetheSeniorPhonePatrolprogram.Locateseniorsontheseniorpatrolbyphone,runtheiraddress,callthehospitals,callemergencycontacts,andputincallsforservicewhenneeded.

• Performavarietyofofficesupportduties.Performavarietyofpolicesupportduties,suchasrestockingequipmentinvehiclesandreplenishingsuppliesandforms.

• Performotherdutieswhichmaybeassigned.
