EMC-Test IPL – BN913
Remarks
Conducted and radiated emission measurements are to be carried out with "QuasiPeak"-rating. The field/intensity meters (receiver) used for testing are equipped with "QuasiPeak"-detector. Because of required time constants for building up to full intensity (amplitude) at each measured value (frequency), it takes a great deal of time to carry out "QuasiPeak"-measurements. In addition searching for emission maxima, varying height of antenna or position of absorbing clamp results in unacceptable time of test process.
Therefore emission-testing will be done as follows:
- Prescan with "Peak"-detector; searching for maxima at pre selected subranges
- Rating of maxima against preselected margin (safe distance)
- Final Measurement with "QuasiPeak"-detector, if measured "Peak"-value exceeds margin. Final Results are added to corresponding diagrams
At radiated emission test the distance to equipment under test was 3 m. The limit to be established, "class B" acc. to DIN EN 55011, correlates to a distance of 10 m. For normalising these results with respect to the required distance, the measured values are converted by the factor 20dB per decade according to DIN EN 55022, 11.2.1 (10m 3m: -10 dB). The limit to be established "non-consumer class"acc. to FCC18, correlates to a distance of 30m. ⇒ Normalisation of results as stated above: (30m 3m: -20 dB). These calculations as well as antenna factors were considered automatically during computerised scanning through the required frequency range and are included to the recordings at the diagrams.
In case of broadband exceeding of limit the narrowband characteristic of this values will be tested in addition.
Operational mode, Function Control, Failure Criteria
All tests were carried out at operational mode "Standby; High Frequency Output not activated." During susceptibility testing the High Frequency Output was activated by keypress temporarily for function control. Further the system was not allowed to reboot with default values. The power reading on display was checked via video camera.
