  • 1. What Is A Belief? Mark Bristow The Financial Healer
  • 2. A belief - often described as a feeling of certainty that something is true - is something thats engrained into you.
  • 3. It runs the whole show. Its your take on something.
  • 4. If I believe: "I will never be successful."
  • 5. Im thinking essentially I will never be successful and that belief was created by some event that sets that off. Event Belief
  • 6. It might be for example, my belief was created because when I was four years old I lost a running race and I should have won.
  • 7. Maybe I tripped over but maybe somebody came along and said something about my 'failure' and at that time I created this belief that I wont be successful.
  • 8. And then certain things will come along that our take on it would be well my belief that Ive created is I wont be successful, so if I come second in something else that means Im not successful because I wasnt first.
  • 9. Whereas somebody else will look at it and their take on it would be Youve come second, youve done really well.
  • 10. How would somebody know if theyve got negative beliefs?
  • 11. I think the interesting thing is that often they dont think that theyve got negative beliefs until we dig a bit deeper.
  • 12. For some people it can be on a conscious level like Money doesnt grow on trees...
  • 13. ...and you had parents that were saying Im not made of money then they might be able to say this back to you fairly quickly and it will become obvious.
  • 14. For other people whose beliefs may take a lot longer to hunt out.
  • 15. One of my clients had this belief that: "Money will always be taken away from me."
  • 16. She didnt realise this until we found out the source of that belief.
  • 17. It came from the fact that she used to save coins when she was a little girl.
  • 18. And her mother would come along and take some or all of them.
  • 19. In her head it might have been Oh Ill come along and take this change because I have to pay the milkman.
  • 20. But at that point something as simple as that created a belief.
  • 21. For this lady, she could make money but as soon as she got money it was taken away from her.
  • 22. And this proved a real stumbling block because shes never saved money.
  • 23. Shes always found ways that she ends up spending it.
  • 24. Another example where a belief is created
  • 25. Ive got another client where she was told that rich people are horrible people because her uncle happened to be fairly rich but wasnt the nicest person.
  • 26. So shes gone through life now thinking that all rich people are horrible people...
  • 27. ...based upon what she was told by her parents about her uncle.
  • 28. So, she has attracted into her life rich people that are not very nice. So its incredible how much one little thing can affect your life.
  • 29. And they are just two examples where that is greatly affected, those two clients and their relationship with money.
  • 30. When you work with the clients how do you get them to uncover their negative beliefs?
  • 31. It involves a lot of questioning and unravelling the bits of the onion to get to the core point.
  • 32. So theres a lot of discussion about whats happened with money.
  • 33. And then peeling away the outer most parts of the onion to get to the core.
  • 34. So theres a lot of questions, the answers of which will give us a clue as to where that will lead us.
  • 35. But the fascinating thing about being a Financial Healer is that no two clients are the same.
  • 36. And therefore theres a blank page, theres a number of questions, but where that leads us we dont always know.
  • 37. We usually use special methods which are very friendly...
  • 38. ...very nice but will get into the sub-conscious...
  • 39. ...and the clients own sub- conscious will lead us to the source of those particular negative beliefs.
