Background and Objectives
Background• Vision of Late Shri Shantanurao Kirloskar• Swacha Sundar Shala Scheme in Pune in 1967.
Objectives• To facilitate improvements in water, sanitation
and hygiene education and infrastructure in Pune schools, using a participatory approach
• To help evolve sustainable, appropriate operation and maintenance systems of WASH facilities in schools

• WASH School Improvement Plan formats development and submission for suggestions and comments by PMC officials
• WASH Information System developed on GIS platform including base line WASH data of PMC schools on 19th Feb 2010

• PMC school security systems could be taken up under PMC main administration
• There could be ‘One location One Cleaning Person’ policy for two time cleaning in a shifts
