History of wireless sensor • In 1998, Strater proposed the integration of wireless
radio with sensors to reduce cost of SHM.
• In 2003, Lynch et al. integrated microcontrollers in wireless sensors with data processing and feature extraction capability.
• In 2003, Tanner et al. integrated MEMS sensors with wireless communication and embedded system.
• In 2006, Farrar et al. selected single board computer with wireless networking .
• Spencer et al.(2004) and Lynch and Lon (2006) provided the summaries of wireless technology with integrated sensors with processor in SHM.
