changing the CD/DVD AutoPlay Settings

To boot to a windows desktop you will need a PC Keyboard and Mouse plugged in and use the
customer screen.
1. Reboot the ATM.
2. When the NCR splash screen logo below appears on the screen…..
3. Press and hold the LEFT shift key until the logon screen appears. (USB keyboards press and
hold the LEFT shift key while simultaneously pressing/releasing the RIGHT shift key every 1
second)
Attention: If you do not have the default passwords for NCR call into the PTC to obtain
them.
Warning: Do not write down these passwords at the ATM or on this document!!
Note: Passwords are case sensitive.

The screen shots that follow are based on a Windows 7 Operating system. They may differ
slightly from Windows XP. However the steps to access these settings will be similar on both
operating systems.
Before changing the password in Windows 7 you must change the CD\DVD Auto play settings.
You are not required to change AutoPlay settings in Windows XP.
4. Once at the desktop click on Control Panel
5. Click on Auto Play

6. Uncheck the box for Use AutoPlay for all media and devices
7. For each media type click on the dropdown box and choose Take no action

8. Perform this step for all media types listed until the screen looks similar to the one shown
Note:
Be sure to scroll down to make changes on all the media types available
9. Once all changes have been made click Save
10. Close the Control panel Window to return to the Desktop and proceed to change the
Windows Desktop password

11. Once back at the desktop, Right click on the Computer Icon
12. Use the cursor to highlight then Left click “manage”
Note:
If there is not a computer Icon on the desktop, click Start, right click on Computer, left click on
Manage as shown above

13. Click on the arrow or + sign next to Local Users and Groups to expand

15. Double click on the correct administrator account.
Note: For Windows 7 There maybe multiple accounts listed that are NOT the administrator
account, even though the NAME may show Administrator. Be sure to select the account that
displays the USER NAME you originally logged in with. It may not show a description

Note: For Windows XP, there may be multiple accounts listed that are NOT the administrator
accounts. Even though the NAME may show Administrator, be sure to select the account with
the DESCRIPTION of “Built-in account for administering the computer/domain”. Verify the
NAME matches the USER NAME you originally used to login.

16. Uncheck the “user cannot change password” box. All other settings should remain
unchanged
17. Click “Apply”
18. Click “OK”

19. Right click on the same administrator account and select “Set password”…the following
warning will appear
20. Click Proceed
21. Input the New Password provided by the Project Manager
22. Confirm password then click OK
Note: When changing the Windows 7 Administrator Password, if you receive a message
stating “The password does not meet the password policy requirements and to check the
minimum password length, password complexity and password history”. Proceed to Step 23,
otherwise skip to Step 29

23. Return to the Windows desktop click Start. In the Dialog box type Local Security Polices and click on
the Local Security Policy shown below
24. Click on the arrow next to Account Policies to expand it and click on Password Policy

The settings should be as follows:
Enforce password history : 24 passwords Remembered
Maximum password age: 0 days
Minimum password age: 0 days
Minimum password length: 8 characters
Password must meet complexity requirements: Enabled
Store passwords using reversible encryption: Disabled
25. Should any of the settings need to be changed, click on the appropriate policy to make
changes….(the example below shows changing the maximum password age)
26. Click Apply then OK after each change
27. Close the Local Security Policy Window
28. Go back to Step 19 and proceed to enter the new administrator password again

29. Close all windows and reboot ATM
30. Access desktop using the New Password.

Changing Administrator Passwords: Diebold Agilis
Windows XP
Attention: If you do not have the default passwords for Diebold ATM call into the PTC to
obtain them.
Warning: Do not write down these passwords at the ATM or on this document!!
Log into Windows XP by hitting Control, ALT, Delete and then Log off.
Logon to Windows using the existing username and password

Select the User account that says Manage_ATM
Now select change my password

It is recommended that you change the passwords to a unique password and set them as required for the customer
Type in the current password and then the New Password and confirm it. Then select Change Password to save.
Reboot the ATM back into Agilis then log off and test your new password

1. Attention: If you do not have the default passwords for Diebold ATM call into the PTC to
obtain them.
2. Warning: Do not write down these passwords at the ATM or on this document!!
3. Log into Windows 7 by hitting Control, ALT, Delete and then Log off.

4. Select Other User.
5. Insert current User Name and Password

6. To change the password click on Start, Control Panel and then User Accounts

7. Make sure the account you selected says Manage_ATM
8. Now select Change my password

9. It is recommended that you change the passwords to a unique password and set them as required for the customer.
10. Type in the current password and then the New Password and confirm it. Then select Change Password to save.
11. Reboot the ATM to get back into Service (Agilis) and to test the New Password.
