IMPACT OF THE POLLUTION CONTROL MEASURES ON CONSERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND CONSEQUENTLY ON THE COST OF PRODUCTION.
Fly ash is being used for manufacturing Portland Pozzolona Cement. Due to use of fly ash, limestone consumption per ton of cement manufacturing is reduced. In the year 2015-16, 81661 tones was utilized for PPC production. Dust collected in the pollution control system is totally recycled back into process. Domestic wastewater is treated in sewage treatment plant and 100% re-used for watering greenbelt, gardens, lawns through a network of irrigation system within the plant premises.
PART – H
ADDITIONAL INVESTMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION INCLUDING ABATEMENT OF
POLLUTION.
Greenbelt was developed in an area of about 20.24 ha. with 15000 number of plantations and spent
Rs. 70.0 Lakhs for greenbelt development during 2015-2016. During financial year 2016-2017 it is
proposed to developed greenbelt with about 7,000 trees.
Environmental monitoring for stack emission, ambient air quality, noise level and wastewater quality
is being done regularly and we have spent around 5.87 Lakhs for monitoring activities.
PART – I
ANY OTHER PARTICULARS IN RESPECT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND ABATEMENT OF POLLUTION
1. Continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) connected to APPCB and CPCB servers
2. Road Sweeping and Vaccum cleaning machines have been procured attached
as Annexure-I.
3. Four no’s additional bag filters were installed at different transfer points attached as
Annexure-II.
4. CC road has been laid to control fugitive dust emission attached as Annexure-III.
5. Concreted in different areas for controlling fugitive dust.
6. Bag filters chutes modification completed to avoid spillage.
7. Energy conservation measures are being taken.
8. Success in efforts of ensuring accident free working conditions for workers.
9. Building up-to-date library to facilitate the process of learning of environment protection
measures.
10. We have organized Swachh Bharat program at Yanakandla village, Venkatapuram village
and planted saplings on the occasion. Photographs attached as Annexure-IV.

Environmental Campaign & Awareness:
Every year World Environment day is being celebrated in plant premises. On the occasion of world environment
day, all employees and workers gathered in Plant. The environment pledge is being taken by all for
environment conservation and continuous efforts to make a green and healthy environment. The Environment
Department Head address the gathering. The World Environment Day ended with the plantation by staff,
workers.
On the occasion of world environment day various environment related competitions are organized for
company staff, workers in plant and for colony children. Competitions like Environment drawings, slogans,
essay writing etc. The main objective behind organising these competitions is to make aware people about the
environment consequence & its conservations. The winners of competitions are being awarded in the World
Environment Day program on 5th June 2015 by Plant Head.
