Celebrate With Grace

We need to have the spirit of grace in the days of celebration. There will alwaysbe special days set apart to remember or celebrate an event in our lives. Itcould be a birthday, wedding day, graduation day, birth of a child, start of a business… Itshould be a day set aside to thank God. At such times you expect to receive family, friends and well-wishers.Yes, it’s great to be expectant, as the Bible admonishes us to rejoice with those whorejoice and vice versa. As much as special days of celebration are expected to be happydays, it could be filled with upsets when the celebrant lacks the grace to forgive. “Youdid not come for my wedding.” “My wife put to bed and you never cared to come andsee the baby.” “I celebrated my birthday and didn’t receive so much as a card much lessa birthday gift from my best friend, my brother or sister.” Such special days are expectedto be celebrated with the spirit of grace, a heart of thanksgiving and appreciation andfellowship with the Holy Spirit, much more than with people. Ironically, after suchcelebrations, people lose friends, when they measure their worth by the attendance ofpeople rather than by the presence of God. Don’t place your hopes and expectationson friends. Instead, lead a life of unconditional grace. If you want to live a life of celebration, you will only succeed by overlooking the shortcomings of others and being willing toforgive.P A S T O R C H R I S"Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep"(Romans 12:15).FURTHER STUDY: EPHESIANS 4:32_ _Christian
