Dear Friends,
Since 1985, the Early Childhood Learning Center has been a vi-
tal part of St. Luke’s and the greater Jackson area. For the past
30 years, Cathy Sumrall has led our program with excellence.
Under her leadership the ECLC has grown to be one of the most
respected programs in our community.
We will be celebrating Cathy’s retirement at a special reception
this coming Sunday, August 7th, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., in the
Fellowship Hall. Please join us to offer your thanks and well
wishes for Cathy.
Also, this weekend we will begin work on our August mission
of the month, Habitat for Humanity. We are partnering with
other United Methodist churches to renovate a house at 326
Manship Street, behind Baptist Hospital. Our work this Satur-
day will include demolition and prep work for the renovation.
We have also pledged to raise $3,000.00 toward the project. We
will collect these funds during the month, and you may give
through the offering plate, by mail, or online through the church
website.
Grace and Peace,
Ricky

MISSIONS MEETING, SUNDAY, AUGUST 21 The committee that will focus on "Sharing Hope" (enhancing
and expanding our church's mission work) will have its first

congregation can be the "hands and feet" of Christ in our com-
munity and the world. If you are interested in the work of this
committee, please join us for our initial meeting. Contact Hunter
Upchurch ([email protected]) or Rev. Mike Gaby
([email protected]) if you have any questions.
