The Selu Project
The Selu project rose from the earth beneath the Frank and Laura Lewis library. During the inital turning of earth a burn/trash pit was discovered. Dr. Linda Buchanan saw this as a great opportunity for students and faculty to learn about the history of the college. During the 2007 homecoming weekend college faculty and a group of students went out for a couple of hours and excavated the remains of the burn/trash pit. The his-tory department took possession of the recovered artifacts for research, cleaning, and archiving. This student led and driven project has grown and now encompasses several departments and their expertise. The Selu Project is a campus wide project which made its grand premier during the dedication of the Frank and Laura Lewis library which took place on April 17, 2009.
