CONTRACTS

Bachelors Masters PhD Post PhD3.6.1

Contract a) Candidate will sign a BSP Incentive

contract where the terms andcondition of the contract will bebased on the KPI and activitiesascertained.

b) Candidate will be assessed every 6months on their progress.Candidate will be dropped from theincentive program if failed to meetthe standards required for the BSP.

c) Incentives can be given on top of any scholarship/loan hold by thecandidate.

If candidate has recently completedhis/her Bachelor:

a) Candidate will sign a BSP Incentivecontract to pursue a Master degree(full research only) in University of Malaya.

b) The BSP period will be for 2 years.

c) Candidate must meet the terms andconditions stated in the BSP contract(including the KPI and activities).

d) Candidate will be assessed every 6months on their progress. Candidatewill be dropped from the incentiveprogram if failed to meet thestandards required for the BSP.

e) Incentives will still be given if acandidate (local and international) isholding a scholarship or loan orResearch Assistant post in Universityof Malaya (if applicable) withoutcancellation/ breach of contract.

f) Candidates however must be a fulltime student during the BSPcandidature.

If candidate has recently completedhis/her Bachelor/ Master:

a) Candidate will sign a SBSUMScholarship contract to pursue aPhD degree either in UM or apublic University in Malaysia or aworld renowned university withinthe 6 countries stipulated by theUniversity (Singapore, China, India,Korea, Japan and New Zealand) .

b) The BSP period will be for 3 years.

c) Candidate must meet the termsand conditions stated in the BSPcontract (including the KPI andactivities).

d) Local candidates can be consideredfor transfer of contract fromSBSUM to SLAB/SLAI scheme.

e) Candidate will be assessed every 6months on their progress.Candidate will be dropped fromthe scholarship program if failed tomeet the standards required forthe BSP.

f) Candidate must not hold any otherposts or scholarship or loanthroughout the SBSUM Scholarship

) Candidate will sign an appointment

contract as a Visiting ResearchFellow/ Visiting Senior ResearchFellow/ Post doctoral ResearchFellow/ Visiting Academic Staff.

b) Candidate will start receiving theBSP Incentive on top of theemolument subject to a satisfactoryprogress report for the first six (6)month of the appointment.

) Candidate will be assessed every 6months on their progress. Candidatewill be dropped from the BSPIncentive if failed to meet thestandards required for the BSP (KPIand activities). However, theappointment contract will stillcontinue until the end of the tenure.





e) Candidate must not hold any other

posts or scholarship or loanthroughout the SBSUM Scholarshiptenure.

f) Upon successfully completed thestudy candidate is required toserve the University of Malaya fora period of at least and until thecompletion of the total publicationas required in the SBSUMScholarship contract.
