Me & Technology
Always interested in technology in learningMultimedia, games, digital video, computers in the classroom
Never interested in distance learningNot as good as F2F, no personal contact, changes the teaching process, in for a penny, in for a pound
Three things have changed since then
1. I Changed
I moved to North Dakota....
...and it occurred to me that there were compelling reasons to consider distance education
2. Pedagogy Changed
Learned to adapt message to the medium
Developed new models for distance education– Hybrid, blended learning models– Differing definitions– Synchronous and asynchronous class experiences – Campus and off-campus students co-present in synchronous
3. Technology Changed
Technology is powerful and intuitive enough to support new modelsBreeze
