Foundation invites you to considera charitable donation to supportour nonprofit community hospitalmission at a level that allows us torecognize you at the BenefactorsPavilion Society level.

To thank our major donors,Bethesda created the BenefactorsPavilion, a private VIP wing thatcombines world-class medical carewith the comforts of home and five-star hotel amenities.

The Benefactors Pavilion features large, private

suites with a sitting area, desk, sleeper sofa, deluxe marblebathroom and entertainment center. You can enjoya breath of fresh air on our outdoor terrace, visit with yourguests in our well-appointed lobby or conduct business inour conference room. Benefactors Society level donorsreceive complimentary stays in one of the Pavilion’s elevensuites should they ever need hospitalization. The Pavilion’schefs will personally take your order for breakfast, lunch anddinner, preparing complimentary gourmet meals in thePavilion Kitchen for you and a family member, served onfine china. Most importantly for your health, you get thatextra level of “TLC” with a nurse to patient ratio of one nurseto three or four patients – the best in the area – and accessto our Benefactor concierge service to make your stay ascomfortable as possible.

Benefactors Pavilion Society level donors receive

courtesies beyond access to a VIP suite. Benefactor leveldonors may also receive expedited service in ourEmergency Room, assistance with physician referrals andcoordinating your care, access to physician lectures andwellness programs including a complimentary flu shotprogram in the Fall. Special codes in the hospital computerrecords alert staff when a Benefactor is admitted. Lifetimemembers are issued a VIP gold identification card.Reserved parking spaces are also available. All courtesiesare extended on a non-guaranteed, “first-come, first-served”basis and depend on availability because they are gesturesof thanks to those who make a major gift in support ofBethesda’s mission.

Recognition Criteria and Ways to GiveAnnual Recognition with a $10,000 donationBy donating $10,000 individuals and couples can receive annual recognition at theBenefactors Pavilion Society level for one year from the date of gift, renewable yearly.

Lifetime Individual Recognition with a $50,000 pledge/giftIndividuals can receive lifetime recognition at the Benefactors Pavilion Society level bydonating $50,000. The gift may be “pledged” to be paid over a standard 5-year period.

Lifetime Couples Recognition with a $75,000 pledge/giftCouples can receive lifetime recognition at the Benefactors Pavilion Society level bydonating $75,000. The gift may be “pledged” to be paid over a standard 5-year period.

Family Recognition with $75,000 + $25,000 for each personCouples can extend their privileges to include their parents, children*, children'sspouses, and grandchildren* by adding $25,000 for each additional family member inaddition to the Couples level donation of $75,000. Family privileges extended onlyduring the original donors lifetimes. *Children ages 17 and under are hospitalized in the PediatricDept.; mother and newborn baby may access the Maternity Unit’s special Benefactors Society VIP Suite.

Ways to Make Your GiftBy check: Make out a check to the Bethesda Hospital Foundation.

By Credit Card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover accepted.

By stocks: Transfer appreciated stocks to the Bethesda Foundation by calling 561-276-1680, and using DTC code 5198 into account # 731-04001. Two advantages tothis: avoid paying capital gains taxes on appreciated stocks; tax deduction on full value.

By Trust: Name Bethesda Hospital Foundation an irrevocable beneficiary of a trust,life insurance policy, or other planned gift for the “present value” – based on the donor’sage – of the amounts listed above and provide documentation.

Donations to Bethesda qualify for a charitable tax-deduction to the full extent of the law as Bethesda isan IRS code 501-c-3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization. However, if you use any courtesies in the sameyear in which you make a donation, as you itemize your deductions you may need to consult your taxadvisor to review the 2007 revisions of IRS publications 526 and 561 on valuing charitable gifts. Whilenot specifically mentioning hospital room courtesies they could be interpreted to urge that you lessen theamount of any charitable deduction you would like to claim by the value of any courtesy extended.
