"I was very busy during the days ofclasses and free days in the Instituteworking with the Student Manual Maps andSyllabus Maps which I was not able to receive. and finish while in the Philippines,I was not able to use some of my free daysin visiting some places in Jerusalem andnearby places. Nevertheless, I was able tofinish all my assignments, to attend allthe classes, preview lectures, and all thethirteen whole day field trips. We areable to explore the whole land, "from Beer^sheva to Dan" from Negev in the South tothe Golan Heights in the North. I am sofascinated and surprised to see Bibleplaces in different Tels in Israel provingthe undeniable facts of the Bible!

"I left Israel on April 6 and arrivedManila on April 8. Well, I am reallyblessed with this wonderful and excitingtrip to the Holy Land. I leamed a lot ofexperiences which I could not gain by reading books. I really learned a lot whichsurely help me to serve the Lord more effectively for His glory.

"Again, I want to express my undyingthanks to you and all the brethren therewho extended their financial and spiritualsupports. Sir and Ma'am, may you relayalso to them my thanks. ri, Philippines pointed out a scripture tome in Romans 15:13. I pass it on to you,my good friends, because it is a greatthought: "Now the God of hope fill youwith all joy and peace in believing, thatye may abound (overflow) in hope, in thepower of the Holy Spirit."

THE GARDEN OF EDENWhile working in my gardeni I got to

thinking about Adam and Eve in the Gardenof Eden. Their work was to till the gardenand to keep it. Gardening was man's firstoccupation. In that garden God placedevery tree that is pleasant to the sightand good for food. If we are right in supposing that the earth had a uniform climatewithout seasonal changes, then the treesmust have borne fruit the year around.

I have enjoyed working in my garden. It is outdoor work, it gives good exercise, and one sees the trees produce their fruitand the flowers bloom. Adam and Eve werein a beautiful place, and the rules werenot hard to keep. But the serpent with hislies made Eve think she should eat for forbidden fruit, and she did. The serpentpromised that her eyes would be opened andshe would be like God, knowing good andevil, Adam ate it, too, when Eve offeredit to him.

Yes, their eyes were openedand theyknew that they were naked! Before the disobedience, they had known only good. Nowthey knew both good and evil, and the results were not pleasant, "How will we getclothes? Ah, there is the fig tree withits large leaves!" So the aprons weremade. "What will we do when God comes tosee us? Let^s hide in the bushes." Sothey hid, but God soon found them, and punishment followed.

There are those who think Genesis 3 isjust a myth or legend. But it really is atrue history, of the marring of God's beautiful creation by sin, Jesus probably hadGenesis 3 in mind when He said of the

devil, "He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, he-cause there is no truth in him." (Jn. 8:44)Paul refers to Genesis 3 again and again inRomans, Corinthians and Galatians. (SeeRom. 5:14-19; 8:20-22; II Cor. 11:3; Gal.4:4, 26; et al.) If Christ and the Apostles accepted Genesis 3 as true history, who are we to say it is not? The Bible istrue in all its historical details, and iscompletely trustworthy. WHB
