What is Different About ARRA Funds?
• Unprecedented levels of transparency, oversight and accountability
• Aggressive expenditure requirements (ARRA funds must be used consistently)
• No co-mingling of ARRA funds and non-ARRA funds

SPA’s Role and Responsibility
• Initiate appropriate data collection and reporting procedures to assure ARRA requirements are met in a timely and effective manner
• Review all data collected and correct if necessary
• Submit quarterly reports to FederalRecovery.gov
PI’s Role and ResponsibilityReport on Two Data Elements Each Quarter:1. The percentage of project completion
Not Started Less than 50% Completed Completed 50% or More Fully Completed
2. Description of quarterly activities/milestones• Grants: Overall purpose and expected outcomes for the award
and for first-tier sub-awards• Contracts: Significant services performed and/or supplies
delivered
SPO’s Role and Responsibility
Michigan Tech will do the federal reporting• Collect information on a standard sub-recipient
data form provided to each sub-recipient• Sub-recipient must send reporting elements to
Michigan Tech by the 5th day of the reporting month
• Notify Michigan Tech PI if sub-recipient report is late; in addition, SPO will contact sub-recipient
